Second Visit And Still Impressed
Courteous and frindly staff, spacious room, serene and quiet, quite close to Patong
6.7
It was my second stay in Thavorn and I will be back for my third stay hopefully soon. Aside from the sprawling grounds with huge pool and beautiful garden it has it's own beach so no pesky sellers. The beach is quiet and serene. The beach is full of rocks you have to find a spot and you can dip...not swim. They have a private Jetty and boat moored so you can sunbathe and snorkel if u want. The reason why I returned to stay was because the staff are all friendly.

Good resort but lack of management.
5
Good resort, Spacious rooms but lack of management. No Internet in rooms. Don't avail room having ocean view as there is a rope way sort of lift which will take around 15-20 mins to get you UP/Down even from the next floor. Most of the time I found it was failed. Service Staff don't understand English. No arrangements for vegetarians. Don't expect any sort of courtesy. Have arrangements for patong shuttle but no return shuttle. Every package is quite expensive as compare to market price.

You'll find better on Phuket for same money
5.7
An ok hotel. It is a little dated and needs a makeover. Nothing was awful, nothing was great - all pretty average. The cable car is a novelty at first but after a couple of days it loses its novelty and becomes annoying as you wait for it. Food and beverage is very expensive - best to avoid. Taxi to Kamala 300 baht.

This is the best hotel we have had this trip. Just a bit far from Batong beach but the hotel is really nice. The sea view room is so big, would be the best choice for the family who has kid.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile
Fantastic peacful green resort, spacious lovely rooms and toilet

Lovely resort, very big complex full of greenery and flowers and some fun domestic animals such as chicken and rabbits. The sound of crickets is wonderful in the evenings. If you like the to wake up by a rooster then this resort is best place to feel that. Beach is very private and clean . The only thing you need to check is to observe tide in order to know when is good time for swimming. Breakfast and was lovely and it caters to everyone's needs. Swimming pool is huge and full of landscaping and fine details from nature such as statues of elephants, waterfalls and other beautiful features for you to discover. You can step into swimming pool straight from your terrace which is awesome. Rooms are very spacious with fine colonial touch, big bathrooms and lovely veranda. Overall the resort is very clean and well maintained. There are many interesting thoughts written on the boards and placed around the resort. I would suggest to have your own transport during your stay there. It will be more convenient to travel around to other beaches and evening shopping and dinners and entertainment if you opt dine out.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't forget to play with rabbits that freely hop around the resort and enjoy massage spa beds provided in the swimming pool

Great Hotel, ok Beach
Resort feel, great atmosphere
9.3
the resort was really beautiful. we went during rainy season so the place felt like it was our very own. the staff is great. the location is like 15min from the nightlife, but that is just a taxi/tuk-tuk away. the beach is a bit rocky, but the pool was fabulous!! very good for honeymooners!
Hotel Feature Tip:
The pool villa was awesome...you can swim to your room, or swim up to the bar from your room.

lovely hotel but a few probs
5.3
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights only and we had a sea view bungalow at floor 3 on the cable car, half way up the hill. As one of the cable cars were being renovated, they only had one operating and to be honest it was a hassle having to get it all the time and wait if it had gone up to stop 6! We found the food and drink prices were more expensive than that of other hotels at the same price (I was told because it was Russian owned), but not sure if this is the case. The staff we dealt with were pretty accommodating, although weren't very friendly at times. They never had the big smiles that Thai people are renowned for. One female staff member who served us at the pool bar and the Siam Restaurant was lovely. The restaurant there was lovely and although we were the only couple in there, we enjoyed it thoroughly. The resort is set on the most beautiful grounds, plenty of bird life, beautiful orchid gardens and friendly rabbits who are eager to eat from your hands, great for kids! Lovely statues adorn the gardens, giving the place a real thai feel. Our room half-way up the hill was a real down side for us, and we did ask for a ground floor room but was flatly told there were none available, and that all were booked. We knew that some rooms were being refurbished, but there were ground rooms available, different to what we were told. The staff, knowing we were on our honeymoon, didn't try to move us to one, even after our request. The pool is the real draw-card to this resort, being the 2nd biggest in asia. It is cleaned meticulously every day, is just amazing and has a swim-up bar. If the pool had not been there, I doubt if we would have stayed.
Shopping Tip:
This resort, which is noted as Patong, is some way out of Patong and a 300 - 400 THBT taxi fare to Patong for shopping, so bare this in mind. The hotel does run a one way bus a few times into Patong by arrangement. I think that there are better hotels, closer in and of better value.
