Good staff, okay hotel Guest Rating: 3.3

Overall, it was a good experience. Rent a bike / car and go around. We walked so was pretty tiring to get around. It's good because the hotel provides a free shuttle service at selected times to Phuket town and Patong. Pretty quiet area, so had to travel out for some action.

If you expected a boutique style room, it isn't recommended. The room should be redecorated more as a 4-star hotel. The building is already well furnished and decorated in Thai style which is the advantage of this hotel. So if you like a quiet place to relax with beautiful landscape of the garden, pools and Thai tradition ,then it is recommended.

Make sure to bring your agoda email print out. Our price off season was about $40 US with taxes for a really nice hotel. We loved it.

• Travel tip : Rent a car or scooter for easier access to better food options. There are great seafood in simple tent/stalls on the beach at the roundabout in Karon.

Wonderful place to stay Guest Rating: 4.8

This was a wonderful place to stay. From the moment we arrived in the impressive indoor/outdoor lobby, our holiday was definitely looking up. We actually ended up extending our planned stay with the hotel rather than journey onwards, because we enjoyed it so much. The hotel itself was beautiful. The grounds in particular are amazing with miles of winding paths through lush gardens, and five pools to keep you entertained. The location is ideal if you're not keen on the frenzy that is Patong. The hotel is located directly across the road from Karon beach, and is just a 2 minute stroll to shops, restaurants bars and whatever else you might be after. If you want to walk a bit further you can continue on to Kata in about 15 minutes. The hotel has a courtesy bus to Patong or Phuket town which is very convenient. The hotel's buffet breakfast was delicious.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A cheap way around Phuket is to get on the public bus just outside the hotel which will take you straight to Phuket town for 30 baht. From there you can then get a bus to Patong, or to many other locations. With the cost of Tuk Tuks or taxis being about 400 baht to go even locally, booking a day tour can also be a great way to go if you're looking to see some of the many sights. Book it through any one of the many travel agents and an air-conditioned minibus will pick you up from the lobby. If you want to go to an event in the evening this is particularly useful as there's no public transport after 6pm. While the prices for these events are often not very negotiable, you can often get a ticket upgrade or transfers thrown in for free (for example at the Simon Cabaret or Thai Boxing).

A god beach hotel Guest Rating: 4.3

The hotel is located abutted to the beach and mid-point on Karon Beach. This made it the ideal spot for us...while the hotel offered around 5 separate pools, it was just a walk across the road to get to the beach for 100 baht a day (lounge and umbrella per person). We came as a couple, but this is a great children friendly hotel because of the plethora of pools. The location of the hotel is central to many restaurants as well.
