The grounds and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The pools lovely. Good choice for breakfast.
Rooms a little 70s / 80s. Very expensive restaurants.
I found the staff to be lovely, always smiley. Overall this hotel is pretty good, but be aware that it is away from most of the action. About 10 mins walk down the beach is the main part of Karon, with good restaurants. The beach is 1 minute walk across the road, and very beautiful, although please do NOT swim in monsoon season as you are likely to drown - as several people apparently did during my short stay.
The rooms are comfortable and I was upgraded, which was nice, but they are very dated.
The hotel is situated a small distance from the main Karon area, but the hotel do a shuttle service to Patong if you feel like some real "action" and it's only 10 mins walk to the main part of Karon. (The tuk tuk drivers will rip you off if you want to get back though - 200 Baht for a 2 minute ride!! I bargained hard to get it down to 100 Baht - still expensive, but as a woman alone, I wasn't sure I should be walking it alone late at night). There are a couple of nice little restaurants 2 mins walk from the hotel. The grounds and gardens are absolutely beautiful, and I was there in rainy season and had no problem with people saving sun loungers - it seemed to be quite quiet while I was there. Massage is expensive at the hotel, so I did not bother. I'd say this is perfect for families, or for travellers who just want to flop around reading a book in the sun in a nice environment. The wild birds are very entertaining.
Restaurant Tip : The Red Onion in the main part of Karon is fab!

Hotel was quiet, service was friendly, breakfasts and pools were great. Lovely gardens with close proximity to beach and restuarants.
Bathrooms were quite small and very shabby. Hotel needs a facelift. One couple complained they had no hot water during their stay but that was not our experience.
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The in house tailor shop is very efficient, and although the hotel appears somewhat shabby over all and the bathrooms need work, the room was quite large and was serviced with fresh towels and bed linen each day and hygenically maintained. We had an ocean view across the terrace and the aircon was efficient.
Breakfast was included and provided a buffet of both local and European foods with plenty of fresh tropical fruit and eggs cooked to one's preference. Children were well catered for and the alfresco setting overlooking the gardens was lovely.
On our arrival we ordered afternoon tea while waiting for our room to be readied and thought the price a bit steep, so be aware of that should you order from room service.
The pools are varied and well maintained and as it was low season we had no trouble in obtaining sun lounges whenever we wanted them.
All in all the hotel was very good value for what we paid. It is in a quiet location with great beach access, close proximity to reasonably priced restauarants and a short drive to Patong for more comprehensive shopping should you desire it. It would be ideal for families and couples wanting a peaceful vacation with everything within a short walking distance.
Travel tip : We had good massages and reflexology treatments in the local establishments which were reasonably priced. As good as those in Patong.

. Interaction of Employees.
. Prime Location
. Ultimate view of natural beauty of Phuket.
.Costly Internet Facility.
. No vegetarian Food.
. There is Long distance between Entrance and Hotel, they must provide internal cabs for transport.
This was the third step towards euphorian experience, we are very pleased with the interaction of the staff members. The hotel is located at a very prime location, near the beach, so that we can roam around for a long time. The Indian restaurant is near the hotel they provide us with good indian delicacies.

Good location, near the beach
Hotel is a little bit old and the room have bad smell. The corridor outside the room also have bad smell.
We stayed 3 nights at deluxe room in Thavorn Palm. There are many pools and the pools are large. Location is good and nearby beach, restaurants and travel agents. But there is a little bit bad smell inside the room. The seaview is lovely and the balcony is large. Breakfast is good and the items are enough to choose. Staffs are nice and helpful.

beautiful thai staff
the surrounding greenary
beautiful lobby
room was not adequate (value for money)
room was too small
room had several failing amendities for a 4-5 star hotel!
I would not recommend to anybody to go there again. i didn't like the whole service. the staff was friendly, but the room was not what i would have expected from a 4 star hotel at the minimum. the drainage of the bathroom was not working, which was fixed after i complained about it. the room was just too small for the price i paid, it was located at the very end and in the old part, i would have expected it to be at least mentioned in the description. got a burnt iron for my cloths, when i asked for a replacement, nothing happened. location is beautiful and also the surrondings around the hotel is very nice, but what benefit, when you cant enjoy your stay

It is an old hotel but the location is good as it is near to the beach. Also the room is comfortable and the view is excellent.
The staff of the hotel do not really satisfy the customers' wants. For instance, there was a problem with the phone in my room. I tried my best to explain the problem in dialing the local call. However the staff seems not enthusiastic to solve the problem.
The travelers should bear in mind the staff of this hotel will only provide little support for the customers. Do not expect the staff will give you sufficient support.
The location of the hotel is perfect for those travelers who want a quiet environment for their vacation. The infrastructure of the hotel is adequate but a bit old.
Nightlife Tip : Walk along the coast to the south, you will find lots of bars there.

Good location.
Lovely pools.
Beautiful colonial-styled lobby.
Clean rooms.
Property a little run down.
Lift used to access floors was filthy and smelt awful.
Located adjacent to the Hilton on Karon beach Phuket the Thavorn Palm Beach Resort takes a step back in time to a more low rise almost colonial styled hotel. The entrance to the resort and the approach to the lobby is very beautiful and the inside of the lobby with its white tiled roof and latticed woodwork must have been very beautiful when first built. It is still very nice but definitely faded.
The rooms are well kept and very clean. However the lift we had to use to access the top floor was filthy and smelt awful. This could have easily been rectified with a splash of paint, a few promotional posters , a small square of new carpet and some which probably would have also eliminated the awful smell.
All the pools were lovely and clean and the water nice and warm although I didn't notice and filters working.
The staff were very friendly and offered true Thai hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel was once first class but it have been slightly neglected and only needs to be given more attention than what it currently receives to be returned to its former glory.

Nice park & five swimming pools. Good location next to the beach.
Somewhat old. Staff need improvement.
This is a nice big hotel in a garden and next to Karon beach (across a small road). The hotel buildings look decent and beautiful but somewhat old (probably over 10 or 15 years). We stayed here for only one night and had a bad experience with the hotel staff. The beach towels and the wash clothes were all missing from our two rooms, and it took them about an hour to get the missing items for us. The way they explained the problem to us was not so professional although we are Thai and spoke Thai with them.

Beautiful Hotel..lobby etc, Location, Breakfast was good. Awesome guy...Dean drove us to the airport when our taxi failed to show up.
POOR Service by Housekeeping, Front Desk and the on duty front desk Manager. The rooms really need a facelift. Such a letdown after the lobby and other areas of the hotel.
The maid took all of the towels when she cleaned one day and didn't replace them. She said she would come with them as they were washing them. Long story short.....No towels of any kind for over 24 hours, despite repeated calls(8) to housekeeping and then the front desk. The next morning I spoke to the manager(after being told the night before no manager)STILL no towels. My husband went out late that night to find some and came across an open Staff Only room and found a clean rag we used to dry ourselves off after our morning shower. N I C E!!!!!!!
2. The hotel had a sign posted HOTTEST PROMOTION food and beverage 25% off between 6-8 at ALL hotel food outlets. The food is VERY expensive (850 Baht each for buffet). We went for supper one night and when we asked about our discount...they said no discount on that night!!!!!(then gave us 10% off). Coming immediately after the towel incident, it didn't sit very well with us.
When we checked out, the front desk went through a big production of issuing us a discount on our beverages from the supper.(not sure if it was because of the towel episode or not) Oh, the discount amounted to Three Dollars! It really is too bad, that when you look past the outer shell of the hotel, there is nothing there to redeem itself. Bad rooms and really poor service.

Great location. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful gardens.
No real views of the beach.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Thavorn. The location right on the beach was fantastic and it was an easy walk either direction along the beach to shops restaurants and night life. Taxi's to Patong were right at the doorway, although a bit more expensive than expected. The gardens around the resort are fantastic. The breakfast was as good as any I've had in a resort of this standard. Only complaint would be that the rooms don't really have views, like they advertise. We asked to be moved to a higher room so that we would have a view, but it was still very limited.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : James Bond island trip is a must do.

Poolarea was excellent with a nice garden.
Breakfast buffet was very good
Elevators need a brush up - really worn out - needs painting.
More sun chairs needed as you had to get up early in the morning to even get a chair. Upper floors with a great sundeck needs umbrellas or some kind shelter as the sun is very hot in the afternoon. You couldn't use the lovely terrace at all. Restaurant far too expensive.
When we arrived to the hotel after about 16 hours of travel we found that the hotel was overbooked and we had to move to another hotel for five days ( same chain, but far away ). This new hotel was in an area that had no restaurants, so we had to take a tuk tuk to/from patong beach which was 400 bath every day.
But the hotel was a 5-star and very nice. Thavorn palm beach in karon was also very nice - especially the pool area and lovely gardens. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The elevator would have needed an improvement in painting. But in a very good value for money and we would really like to go back.
Shopping Tip : Hotel is in walking distance to kata beach with a lot of shopping and restaurants
