The Front Village Hotel, Phuket

I stayed at the Front Village Hotel from September 19 to September 28, 2009, and very much enjoyed my stay. My room was spacious, nicely furnished, and very clean with a view overlooking the beautiful pool and a peek at the Andaman Sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated having a locking safe and minibar in the room with complimentary bottled water provided daily. There were towels provided for both in room and poolside use. The restaurant was pleasant with good food and reasonable prices, and the complimentary breakfast buffet including made to order omelets was a great plus. The location on Karon Beach was a reasonable walk to Karon town, but if you wanted to go further, Tuk Tuk and Taxis were expensive. I solved the problem by renting a motor bike. They are readily available, cheap, and easy to operate, but there is no insurance, so there are both physical and financial risks that you must accept. The hotel does not have wireless internet, and the charge for use of their computer to access the internet was expensive. Near the end of my stay, I found internet access at a hotel in Karon town for only 20 baht to log on. The pool is only open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and I like to swim later, like 8 or 9 p.m. after my day's activities and dinner, so that was a minor limitation I did not like.

The Hotel was excellent....rooms were good and the room service too.Good for people who like their place of stay to be calm.

Tuk-Tuk drivers across the street are bandits! Needed to walk into Karon beach town area to get a legitimate taxi and not be ripped off by these guys.
