Pretty location, but isolated

Cape Panwa in Phuket is very isolated, and it will cost you close to 1000 Thai baht to make a round-trip visit to the main old town of Phuket. This resort has a very small restaurant, and nothing else on the grounds besides the rooms. The room itself was spacious and very clean, but even though it was just built a year ago, there are cracks in the concrete floors and walls. Another thing that makes it difficult to get around here, is that the steps up to the main road from the main area of the resort are very steep and each step is not big enough for a regular adult foot- the building code they used for these kinds of features on the grounds are not up to Western standards. The "free" breakfast was average. The location on the water is actually on mud flats with large trees (mangrove), so you will have to take a shuttle to a nearby beach for sunbathing, etc. I was interested in a resort that was quiet, and tucked away from a lot of noise and nightlife, and this fit the bill. One perk is the outdoor pool that has jacuzzi jets- it is at least 20 yards long, which makes it perfect for lap swimming.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Very quiet and secluded. Beach not really usable (mud flats with mangrove trees). Staff does not speak English, so if you have needs there will be major delays in getting them met. Housekeeping staff is outstanding and very friendly.

Great new resort, but no real beach

The Mangrove Panwa Phuket Resort is a new resort (it only opened a couple of months prior to my visit).
Their rooms are very nice, especially the premier suite which I had booked, with its large terrace and working area.
The resort is set in a really quiet part of Phuket and is perfect for people in search of tranquility.
Two minor complaints, though: there is no real beach per say, just a mangrove, and the breakfast is clearly below par.

staff are friendly and smiley especially those at the restaurant. food is good but a lot of mosquitoes once it gets dark.
room is clean and lovely and i think the toiletries could be from lemongrasshouse. smells heavenly!

1.픽업 - 지연되어 6시간 늦게 도착하였는데 출발전 이러한 사정을 이메일로 보내니 도착시 바로 픽업할수 있게 준비해주었음. 편도 THB1000. 공항에서 45분정도 소요
2.CHECK IN - 웰컴 드링크없음 / 바로 예약 확인 후 방으로 안내 / 호텔에 대한 별도의 설명이 없었음
3.객실 - BEACH FRONT SUITE에 머물렀는데 4채만 해변전망 / 나머지 방들은 2층 OR 단층 빌라 형태라 바다가 안보일것 같음 / 기본 시설만 제공 / 32인치 LCD 벽걸이 TV / 전자레인지 / 미니바에 음료수 및 과자가 5성급 수준으로는 구비되어있지 않음 (기본 음료수 + 맥주) / 새로 진 건물이라 깨끗하긴 함 / 단 칫솔/치약 없음
3.30여채의 방만 있는 작은 리조트라 20여미터의 POOL외에 SPA, GYM 시설등 레이레이션 시설 없음 / 아이들을 데려가면 심심할수 있음
4.맹그로브숲 컨셉이라 밀물과 썰물이 드나드는 해변(해변이라 하기에는 둑을 쌓아 만들어 애매함) BECAH 가 있으나 일반적으로 생각하는 SAND BEACH의 개념이 아님
5.식당 - 수영장을 낀 식당 한군데로 음식 종류가 많지 않음 / 단 가격은 저렴함
6.아침식사 - 5성급 수준을 기대하면 무리임. 기본적인 부페형태로 매일 MAIN DISH는 바꾸어 제공
7.서비스 - 직원들이 친절은 하나 영어를 잘 못알아들음 / 인터넷은 WIFI로 무료(생각보다 잘터짐) / 카오락의 사로진 리조트를 두어달 전에 갔다와봐서 그런지 서비스가 좋다는 생각은 안들음 / 딱 기본 서비스..
8.FISHMAN VILLAGE 및 CORAL 섬에 투어라고 있는데 가격이 생각보다는 빘쌈.
LONG TAIL BOAT로 CORAL 섬은 3500THB(4명기준) - 이곳외에 LONE 섬이라고 있는데 아무것도 없이 선탠하기 좋음(기본 음식 / 타월등을 가져가야 함. 바다이외에는 아무것도 없음)
BEACH가 없다보니 무료로 근처 5분거리의 AO YON인가 하는 PUBLIC BEACH를 데려다주는데 그쪽을 가느니 차라리 SURIN BEACH를 왕복 택시요금을 주고 가는게 좋을 것 같음.
BEACH가 작고 약간 지저분하고 식당도 한두개라 애매함.. 편도만 무료라 BEACH에서 호텔에 올때는 약 200바트를 지불하고 5분거리를 택시를 타야함
중간에 VIEW POINT에 잠깐 내려서 바다를 바라보는 것도 괜찮을 것 같음

Spenderade 7 nätter i början av november på The Mangrove. Hotellet ligger i ett väldigt tyst och lungt område, men dock lite ensamt. Hotellet har en bil som kör en vart man vill en gång om dagen. Personalen är väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma. Wifi funkar perfekt på hela området och de har även Wifi i Bilen! Tips är att hyra motorcycklar/moped för att ta sig vart man vill.
