Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Central located
Nice reception

This is our third hotel we have tried in Phuket town and this was the one who gave us less for the money. Other reviewswe have read about Metropole hotel said they had a great breakfast. Well if you like rice and nudles for breakfast, but otherwise no. They had no cereals at all, only white bread. Pretty nice omeletts though. The rooms are OK, a bit old, but a lovely warm shower. The hotel is situated near good shopping and a McDonalds, and within walking distance from the busstation.
Shopping Tip:
Robinson shoppingmall with McDonalds is just 500 m away, and good shopping on the way to get there.

Metropole
Large Room but managed decent sleep.
Friendly staff
7.3
Stayed for one night given I wanted to stay in Phuket town prior to catching my flight back home. Location is great but the hotel itself is dated and could do with an update. The town itself is a shadow of itself and most of the investment is geared towards the resorts etc so it's no surprise to see there wasn't much going on. I think things have slowed down a lot and the hotel itself will have felt this impact.
Having said that I slept well enough and the place was adequate. 3* is about the max rating one can give to this hotel.

Metropole Hotel Review
Great buffet dinner & breakfast. Nice big rooms
beautiful lobby friendly & helpful staff

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The dinner buffet was a reasonable price and had a lot of variety. Breakfast was a very nice array also.
We thought the hotel was very nicely designed and the lobby was striking. The rooftop pool area looked good but unfortunately we were not able to use it as there was a wedding booked to use the pooldeck and our stay was too short.

This hotel is located near by home town and Robinson shopping mall just walk about 5 min. I stay in Deluxe room it was made comfortable to me especially rest room but I noticed that water from shower was brown when start open in first time, have to drain out. And I strongly recommended to have security guard at car park due to it is open door car park behind the hotel. Over all this hotel is fair for me.

This is a place that you recommend to your enemies.
On the outside it looks like a hotel, but inside it is a disaster.
Everything is very dirty and or worn out. At the swimming pool only 10 beds are available and this for a hotel with a capacity for 200 people.
The only reason why people probably stay here is because there are no real alternatives in this area.
Travel tip:
Try to find another place to sleep, even if it is for one night.

Convenient for a downtown hotel
7.7
This is a good hotel if you stay downtown Phuket.Very near to market, food stalls and Robinsons.Everything you need is just a short walk or tuk tuk away.Except there are no beach and much less 'farangs".Plenty of massage parlours around be it in hotels or in commercial buildings.Food and souveniers etc is definitely cheaper here. Here you will get the true Phuket with all the sino- portugese buildings and the old phuket charm.Plenty of hotels around though not as good as in Patong.the shopping centres are ok with lots of bargain.Convenient tuk tuk, motorcycle taxis and tour vans available to bring you anywhere.Staff are nice, good breakfast and rooms are large.Restaurants serve Thai and chinese food.Dont expect olympic size pool and Clark hatch gym.It is a 3 star hotel but a nice one to stay.Located at the clock tower, it is simply a hotel you cannot miss. But it is not a secluded location if one wants to be alone and relax.it is in a safe location and a good place to stay if you want to experience the real Phuket.Phuket town by itself is pretty drab preserving its old charm.
Shopping Tip:
go to robinsons at the left hand side of the hotel.

Metropole Hotel Review
*Friendly staff
* Good exchange rates offered at Hotel
* Good breakfast selection offered
6.3
Not a bad Hotel overall. It could do with a shuttle service to Patong for tourists. There are taxis and tuk tuks outside the hotel that can take you to the tourist places but if you're after the nightlife you're better off staying at Patong.
Shopping Tip:
One of the advantages of staying in Phuket Town is that you can pick up stuff like Suits and shopping generally cheaper than you would at tourist places like Patong or Karon.
