The view & beach side location, the friendly staff.

Rooms could do with an update.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Yacht Club Hotel. All of the rooms have a lovely view over the bay & ours was no exception with a huge balcony to relax on. Breakfast was very good, again with an excellent view & friendly staff. We also enjoyed a seafood buffet one night with excellent quality seafood. Other shops & restaurants nearby make this a perfect location. Rooms could do with an upgrade but we understand this is planned.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Longboat charter from Rawai front to the small islands for snorkelling.

Sun terrace.Views.Relaxing not for party animals.

Slow service at breakfast. Bathrooms a bit dated.

We spent 14 nights at this hotel when the weather at home was wet and windy, we felt we were in paradise. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are all very helpful, our room was on the 7th floor and the view was stunning huge sun terrace with chairs and loungers simply amazing. The beach is great. The only thing I would say has been previously mentioned. Some mornings the service for breakfast is great other mornings very slow and they would never come to take your breakfast order. This is a problem that could be easily rectified with a few more staff as I think it was a management problem not the waiters/waitresses as they all work hard.

Restaurant Tip : Must mention the Coconut Cafe at the entrance to the hotel best food in Nai Harn, and the staff are wonderful, nothing was a bother to them, boss is an amazing man and the staff are simply the best. There was not much we did not like.

The views were outstanding, service was quick and friendly and the food was brilliant!

Nothing!

The hotel had the most beautiful views of the sea and island. We had breakfast overlooking the beach each morning, the menu was very extensive and the food was fantastic!! Our room was very spacious and had our own private balcony overlooking the sea. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very friednly and helpful. This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in and would reccommend this to anyone.

Tremendous service, excellent breakfast, beach not crowded, retreat for people seeking a quiet place.

Basically nothing!

A fantastic hotel at a wonderful beach, though if you rent a scooter you re within half an hour at Kata, Karon or Patong if you need party(Taxi to Patong 500 Baht after bargaining).Restaurants outside the hotel good and cheap.Nice pool, excellent spa, outside the hotel cheap massage possible (250-300 Baht per hour).

The Yacht Club's sublime atmosphere made for a holiday we did not want to end. The location, the comfort of the rooms and the lovely out- of- their- way helpfulness of the staff made for a very easy stay. The food was exceptional- it was a joy to look forward to dinner, at a different restaurant each night. The Yacht Club will be our favourite place to holiday, when complete relaxation is called for.

Restaurant Tip : The Promenade Restaurant served superb food- it exceeded expectations for a beach restaurant. The food could not be faulted at any of the restaurants!

The Staff

No weaknesses

Our stay in Nai Harn was, we can easily say,the best holiday we have ever had. The hotel staff were exceptional very very pleasant and more than helpful. They are the making of the Royal Yacht Club and the hotels biggest asset.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : James Bond Island Trip was great.

1. Right on the beach. 2. Best view one could imagine. 3. Great value. 4. Private balcony.

None

Since 2003, we have stayed there every year. It is our favorite hotel. We have tried other ones on Phuket, however, when you have stayed at the Yacht Club, that is where you want to stay. Next month I will be booking again. I book very far in advance, since I don't want to miss getting a room there. See you next October.

Restaurant Tip : If you decide not to eat at the hotel, there are a few very nice places right around the corner. (Local places with great food)

Staff attention to detail. Just amazing. The cleanliness of the beach. The location is fantastic for folks not particularly looking for the spring break party town influence that Phuket has a reputation for. Rooms are amazing. All of the food is amazing.

I simply can not come up with any.

Amazing hotel. Fantastic staff. Great location. Our room's balcony was twice the size of the generously sized room. The pool was lovely. The curve of beach reserved for the hotel is perfect. We tried the Thai buffet special on Weds night and though pricey for Thailand, was probably some of the best food I've ever had. The breakfast buffet daily was always perfect (this hotel knows how to buffet...). Everything about our stay was perfect.

Restaurant Tip : The places along the beach serving food are actually not bad at all and are a nice price change from the hotel. You only have to walk a hundred meters out of the grounds to save a ton of money. However, any of the food you do get at the hotel is spectacular.

The Royal Phuket Yacht Club was amazing. The service was wonderful, the staff was friendly, and everything was clean and well prepared. The view was beautiful, the sand on the beach was soft and there were waves for entertainment. The food was exceptionally well prepared for Thailand (including the breakfast). I live and work in Thailand and I am giving my visiting parents the full tour, and thus far it is the best hotel we have stayed at.

For the younger crowd, this is NOT the best destination. Honeymoon, lovers get away or you just need to escape the hustle of the large cities this is a wonderful option. The hotel is very quiet as well as the beach. It is far away from everything and transportation is expensive (~600 baht to or from somewhere). I had no where to go at night while my parents were passed out on the bed.

Wonderful experience! Great staff, food, beach, and room view.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do not see FantaSEA! The show was okay, but the meal and attractions outside of it was a joke.

good sea views from all rooms....which are large and spacious.

needs urgent refurbishment

the hotel is located in a quiet area of phuket on the south west point. you need transport if u want to see the rest of phuket. the hotel has been through 3 sets of management since i knew it, mandarin then meridien and now local. the hotel urgently needs refurbishment as its old. food is western style. internet in the room is grossly expensive whereas most bangkok hotels provide it for free.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : go up the mountain above Chalong....views are wonderful and there are no tourist trappings.

quiet location ... beautiful view from the hotel and all its rooms

hotel is old..... new owners unable to produce quality ..food is too western.

First Mandarin group of Singapore, then Meriden and now a Thai Owner. The hotel property is old and urgently needs refurbishment/replacement. Food is boring an due to the hotels remote location you need transport to get to restaurants around the island. Extras eg internet transport etc are very expensive.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : go to the islands.....phuket is over developed and crowded.

Excellent restaurant, Great staff, big rooms , nice pool and spa

On of the best hotel in south of phuket. It can be seen that a lot of thinking went in to planning and building the hotel. From the reception, restaurant and the rooms and spa. Everything is planned for maximum guest comfort. The hotel is a bit old but the great location from the beach for those cuple who want to be alone. Breakfast is very diverse. And there is a great seefood buffet on Sundays Clean big room with all the needed services . bath room is a little old and in need of renovation

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to a great view point. mast rent a car

Nice beach. Good staff. Need more internet computers in the lobby so there are time limits. Did not get to see the tennis courts but I would have loved to play. Service was great. The balcony was a highlight of the room. My room also had a nice wood decking. Need to include free internet in the rooms.

The staff were very friendly right from the minute we pulled up Porters, reception, dinning room staff & even Maintainance staff. Very clean & airy rooms with a great big balcony. Breakfast in a morning was wonderful.

Only weakness I found was internet for your own computors was payable. Also in the morning for breakfast there were not enough tables at peak time of around 9.00am although there was not a long wait.

There were 5 of us in our party using 3 rooms in August 09 so we got to compair each others rooms, the quality of the room was excelant all being the same except for 1 having a smaller balcony than the other 2. Although smaller this was large enough for the 5 of us to meet on at night and entertain ourselfs with drinks ect. The staff was fantastic they realy put them self out to talk to you and ensure that every things was as it should be. We left there hoping the next hotel would be as good.

Restaurant Tip : Dons restaurant was only 3km away from hotel was fabulas & well worth a visit real good food at very good prices.
