Satisfactory
the bed,the fabulous ocean view and the attentive and polite staff
6.3
Had an enjoyable stay;really good place to do nothing other than sun-tanning,reading-just remember to bring lots of books and magazines and maybe visit some of Phuket's beautiful islands.Been staying at this hotel for many occasions-staff like the porter and the restaurant staff remember me;anyway most staff are cheerful and greet you alot. The hotel maybe abit old;but as reflected in its pricing it is still a wonderful place to stay.

I liked the easygoing, the service minded personell, nice pool, the closeness to the beach.
There are plenty of stairs if you stay on higher floors - sometimes booring to take the elevator.

The Old Dame of Phuket
absolutely the best location, great service, excelent food even by Phuket's high standard

having stayed here many times over the years (not since 2005) i was concerned as people said that it has gone down.
yes , some tlc would not go amiss, but.........the positon, the view (oh, the view), the warm hearted service, rooms the size (equal to small or not so small apartments) and quality of food, made my stay very special. cant recommend it highly enough. will be back soon.

Lovley hotel close to the very nice beach
quiet, friendly and realaxed atmosphere
8.7
the stay was very pleasant, i stayed 2 nights only but felt very welcome from the beginning. on arrival the front desk helped me to organize a cooking school and she even compared 3 different options, phoned all 3 of them and worked out the best deal for me. the head of housekeeping was also very nice and helpfull and gave me some good tips of what to do around the area. the beach was very clean and the breakfirst nice and fresh.

hotel a bit hotel, need renovation , far from the city center and all attraction.
Yet the location by the sea is great, the sea is wonderfull.
Organise tour by yourself, with hotel every thing is too expensive

If you want a romantic gateway, this is the place to stay. However it's not near to town

Try their SPA. Be early to book

The hotel has fantastic view. It was wonderful. I had peaceful time. The hotel and the room was a little old, but I like the vintage mood.
Breakfast did not have many kind of food, but everything was delicious. The hotel's restaurant La Promenade was satisfying, too.
And I loved the Quarterdeck lounge. Sea breeze was fresh.
Local restaurants were cheap and good.
The one thing that makes me uncomfortable was that there are not many air-conditioned common use space. Sometimes the heat was tolerable, and sometimes irritating. (I visited the Phuket in early November.)
Hotel Feature Tip:
*Hotel's library has some books and two desktop PCs. It is small room but nobody use it. It is next to the souvenir shop.
**There are several taxi counters near the hotel. I chose the one of them. I paid 850b for taxi to the airport.(for 2 people) I'm not good at negotiation, so I think you can make better deal. (And the hotel's taxi service is 1500b.)

most impressive hotel I have ever stayed at
old quality of colonial building style, excellently trained staff, absolute privacy

Each member of the staff did their utmost to ensure that my stay was satisfactory. The selection and quality of foods was excellent. The suite was well maintained and very luxuriously furnished. It was a very enjoyable stay and in future I certainly hope to return.

great location but old rooms
5.3
it is very nice locations, most staffs are very nice, but they can not help if there is issue. for example, i rent a car through them but there was a issue when i return the car. They can not help me to deal with that.So i was ripped off by car company.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
nice to stay.
