the soul has been ripped out of this hotel. the wooden bridges and stairs have been replaced by concrete and the interior design in the public areas is all stone and dark wood - totally soul less and unappealing. this was not a 5 star hotel. the towels on the beach were worn with pulled threads and horror of horrors - trash on the beach and no attempt by staff to rake it, like you see in other 5 star resorts. the stairs were a nightmare and i was surprised that the chedi group had not installed a lift from the pool level to the reception level. this hotel would be highly unsuitable for older people, disabled people and families with young children or prams - we were really disappointed and would not return.
on the plus side the rooms were charming and the staff was friendly. the breakfast was nice.

The best sunset at The chedi
the best sun set spot in phuket..the sky is so orange....it was so romantic and the beach is so clean. you can see the sky reflection on the beach

the beach is the best part for our entire stay. very clean . at the evening, it is best to take a glass of champagne or wine and watch the sunset.
Restaurant Tip:
dont eat your dinner at the restaurant here..expensive and not fresh

Very private and exclusive
Loved sea view and tidal noise
9.3
Great place, excellent service. Loved the fact that room service always keep bringing you some extra cramps like nuts, cockies, fruites e.t.c. The breakfast is fantastic , good selection of food and fruites. The beach is awesome and you can cool yourself down in the swimming pool before going back to the room. It could not have been better.

a little private paradise
location, view, upgrade on our room, kindness of the gardeners
9.3
This a splendid place, right on Pansea beach with a network of bridges going from one cottage to an other. We were expecting to be in a room without a view (or a view on the road) on the hillside. When the receptionist took us to our room, we gradually realised that we were going down closer to the beach and away from the hill top. Our room was just 15 meters above sea level with a splendid view on the beach. They had upgraded us to a deluxe cottage! It was a very delicate attention on our honeymoon. On top of that the staff was really nice especially the gardeners who prepared and gave us a fresh coconut they just got out of the tree. It was the best way to end our stay in Phuket.

Chedi phuket
Pool area, beach privacy, helpful staff, clean hotel

Excellant stay at the chedi. Lovely surroundings. Staff excellant. We up graded to a bungalow lower down as yes it did appear along way up to the hillside properties. Beach lovely and private. Small snack bar run by locals excellant food and much cheaper than hotel. The best pad thi noodles I had in thailand! They also served you drinks why you relaxed on your sun bed. Would maybe stay at chedi again. A well run hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Boat trip. Phang nga, James bond island. Village on stilts.

Best Location on Phuket
Phenomenal location with very secluded beach
7.3
Hotel has a brilliant location- virtually private beach- very secluded and relaxing. Rooms are nice but a bit dated- be prepared for some uphill walking.
Hotel let down by facilities- no gym and limited room service- can't even get ice after 11pm let alone food.
Perfectly fine option but at the price there are better genuine 5 star hotels in the area

Chedi Hotel, Surin
Beautiful rooms, lovely pool, gorgeous beach and friendly staff
8.3
We were upgraded to a sea view room and were greeted efficiently and politely, the room was beautifully furnished. The pool was nice, if you walk down to the beach there are lots of lovely beachfront grill restaurants. Audy's and Pla in particular were very good. In the headland there is a lovely bar.
Restaurant Tip:
go down to the beach for dinner and walk to the end of the headland for a great bar.

Excellent hotel at best beach!
Best location, bungalow style, quiet, unique in Phuket, extremely friendly staff, care for detail, nicest beach in Phuket
9.7
You can't find a similar hotel on Phuket. Bungalow style and this beachfront location is unique! This is NOT one of the package style big family resorts. True, it comes into age, but it's very well maintained, has a lot of charme, and the location can't be topped. Nicest beach in Phuket with lots of palmtrees and fine sand. In rainy season not suitable for swimming because of waves and currents (red flag), as almost all beaches on Phuket. Breakfast buffet is a real treat with almost all you can dream of! Bungalows are on the smaller side in this category, but very charming with lots of care for the detail. Try to get a superior room (seaview and closer to beach) if you can afford it.
The beach is secluded and shared between 2 hotels only, which makes it very quiet. Walk 10-15 minutes over the hill to Surin beach for restaurants, or hire a motorbike just 10 minutes away from hotel, only 200 baht per day.

Long week end
Very secluded.Calm and relaxing. Very good drinks at the bar.

Nice overall. The island seem to have a big discrepency with taxi and tranportation prices. You are seen as a walking $ sign .
We did not see at any point in our stay the management. The design is a bit outdated and privacy can be a bit challenging in high season I guess.
