i stayed at the tony resort for 7 nights travelling with 2 male friends, i origenally asked for 2 adjoining rooms with pool access but when we arrived in the middle of the night i was put on the 3rd floor and my 2 male friends were in the room beside me but there were only 1 bed in each room, so the guys were shifted to the older side of the resort and as i wanted us to be close i was also put on the older side of the resort, on the 4th floor and the guys were 0n the 3rd floor, the following morning after peying an extra baht per night i was given the room i origenally wanted ground floor pool access, which was perfect
Restaurant Tip:
breakfast is overpriced, right accross the road are 2 restaurants better food and cheaper, make sure you barter with the taxis at the airport, the first cabbie wanted us to pay 400 baht each to get to the resort the next cabbie took us for 150 each.

good hotel, have stayed here many times

have stayed at this hotel many times and will continue to do so. service is always good and the staff are pleasant. room is very clean and the cleaning ladies are terrific. nothing is too much trouble. two pools though i only used the larger one. brekky is not bad but there is better available up the street.
Shopping Tip:
jung ceylon up the road is very good

My stay at Tony Resort was great, perfect location, not far from Bangla Rd, and right near Jungcylon Shopping Centre. I found the staff were friendly and happy to help.
Travel tip:
Thai people rely on tips so be prepared to tip often!

I didnt like the area particually but its a city and i hate cities generally, would have been good for a couple of nights to get bearings before setting of south. The best beaches are in the south.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a half day tour and then pick a beach for a longer stay.

An older hotel, but my room was spotless and very large compared to newer hotels. Couldn't ask for a better location, right in the middle of everything but my room was still very quiet. Ask for a room overlooking the big pool for a better view. I am definateley staying here again on my next trip to Phuket, great value for money.

Fairly nice hotel but old fashioned - needs update

Enjoyed the fact that 2 pools were available and figured at some time this hotel has been extended. We were in what I considered to be the old part but we enjoyed the privacy of the pool under our room area and were not bothered by other people. Room was clean but kettle and brewing facilities were not available at this hotel and I had to ask for a hairdryer which was provided by staff.
Breakfast was very basic but we only made comparisons because we had previously stayed at another hotel which provided much more choice. Fruit, yoghurt, cakes etc was not offered at breakfast and staff were non plussed although did provide me with one t-bag each morning to strengthen the weak tea provided. Overall most staff were very pleasant and helpful and we made the most of our stay and thought Thailand was fab.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Explore other beaches, e.g. Kata and Caron. Phi Phi Island trip lovely and Fantasea show is definitely worth the visit.
