Fantastic place. Just go there if you have a chance. It is chill time on the beach if that's what you are looking for. Can't be beat. jan and Ray are the most generous hosts you can meet. Treated us like family. Quiet , beautiful beach with few tourists.

The hosts here are amazing!!!! They will do anything for you, they are both great cooks, the owner took us to the red cliffs which was lovely of him, we had a little trouble finding the place but some lovely Thai people helped us, they will pick you up from train station if you call them but we did not have a phone. Lovely boutique hotel on quiet beach

We stayed 4 nights in this wonderfully small place (4 rooms). It has a unique and lovely design, with many outdoor sitting areas, tables and chairs made from reclaimed hardwoods, and a couple of quiet, enclosed rooms with glass around them that have lighting and air conditioning, keeping out bugs and humidity for those seeking that.
The couple running this place are very warm and helpful, and do all humanly possible to provide a comfortable, welcoming environment, which given the remoteness is quite a wonderful and refreshing thing to find.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and have already thought about returning one day, perhaps with more of our family with us.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are off the track but wonderful places nearby, that our host took us to in his vehicle, at no cost to us. We saw a wonderful temple, a fishing village, a quiet nature preserve that was part of the King's holdings, the Bang Saphan day market. It was such great fun, and a memorable experience. Our host would not accept a tip for these efforts; we are going to send a gift of some sort if we're able.

I stayed a week at The Theatre Villas and felt very safe and well rested. I felt like a queen, so solicitous of my welfare were my hosts.
I ate there each evening and was treated, daily, with different Thai fruit, always so fresh and tasty.
The Theatre Villas well deserves it's star status.

Hotel Feature Tip:
If travelling on south, be aware that trains to Trang leave Bang Saphan at midnight. Nontheless, Mr. is happy to take you to the station.

lovely stay - great owners

this was the first time we stayed in a thai family b&b, it was a great experience. the owners were expectionally nice and friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. when i needed a pharmacy, the owner insisted to drive me to the village and when leaving the pharmacy he bought bags full of fresh fruit for: "our guests" and indeed, the rest of the day he offered us fresh fruit and coconut drinks.
the food in the theatre villa is excellent, try the fresh fish sweet and sour (made with fresh pineapple). a delight!
theatre villa is right on the quiet beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
visit the temple and buddah about 25ms from the b&b, one of the nicest we saw in thailand. also a visit to the fisherman boats in a neighbourhood village is worthwhile. the owner has a map of the area and gives you info about the region.
