Massage ladies at hotel were grumpy, no smiles at all and was complaining a lot. Bed was large but not comfy as it was put together with two super single beds, at times cooked items at breakfast buffet was cold.

Paying more does not mean you get more !

Possibly last renovated during Reagan's presidency the "executive" suite comes with one power point per room and multiple cigarette burns in the carpet. There is no kettle to make tea or coffee, the wifi doesn't work and you will have to run around in the shower to get wet. Paying more in Thailand does not mean you get more. In fact if you pay less and request a room in the new building you may come out of there happier than I did. They had micro-waves, kettles and water pressure. Don't believe the photo's and don't think the word "executive" holds any meaning. The hotel was convenient for the business conference but if you are in Rayong for a holiday, you are in the wrong town.

The room had continuous barrage of ants, they ate up my medicine pouch, and some cookies my 26 month old left open,
swimming pool is open to use but had no chairs, construction going on next to it and a huge step down with no barrier at the step to the entrance of the pool.
For the price that they offered and rest of the stay was very good.

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldern City Hotel, room was big, clean and nice. We traveled along the Rayong coastline and enjoyed all the beaches, the city location was a good base to do this if you have a car. Great local street food right accross the road! Friendly staff. The new hotel building is nice the old building is currently under repair which im sure will be as nice when finished. Couldn't hear any works from room which was good. Swimming pool tiny and unusable because of the works currently.

No alert at check-in to daily building noise!

12 nights stay was accompanied by 8am-5pm building renovation drilling and banging. Two days in,reception said would be just 3-4 days but was not the case.
Appeared to be a hotel going through the motions catering in the main for Thai conference attendees.

This is my third stay at Golden City Rayong Hotel and I am so pleased... again the staff were exceptionally good, breakfast hot and tasty and my room clean and of a high quality. I will be back again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
This hotel is so close to town it is easy to get anywhere by local taxi (10 baht for one section) or by taxi bike (40-50 baht for 2 sections) and if you like to walk it only takes 10 minutes to get anywhere in town.

This is my second stay at Golden City Rayong Hotel... it was just as good as my first stay... The staff are so friendly and warm and helpful. Breakfast was good again and my room very clean and well appointed.

Try the local restaurants and coffee shops they are all around this hotel...
