Nice Beach Hotel Rayong Info

If you want to soak up the ambience of maritime life in Thailand, this is the ideal place. Near the hotel is a fresh seafood market, a fishermen’s village and the Rayong Aquarium. From the windows or balconies of these tidy and pleasant rooms, you can enjoy the sea views. And there’s a beach out front for basking in the sun or going for a refreshing dip. All the rooms come with satellite TVs in case you’re feeling homesick or want the small picture on the big world. The hotel is located on the mainland of Rayong, which sees far less tourists than the nearby isle of Koh Samet.

clean room, soft comfortable bed,and quiet most of time.

Not able to provide even a cup of coffee when I checked in at 2100. No food no hot drink available anywhere--totally unacceptable. Breakfast- paltry American Breakfast consisted of a tiny rasher of cheapest bacon, an egg and a few little sausages with a slice of tomato and lettuce. Also 2 slices of toast and coffee. But SAME every day served by unsmiling staff one of whom could not even return my greeting. The laundry took 3 days to come back to me and was more expensive than usual. Internet was expensive but more annoying could only be used in LOBBY--why??

It was not a good start to my stay being told by a dour faced gentleman on reception that after 13 hours travelling he could not provide me with any food or hot drink at 2100 in the evening. Every morning breakfast was the same-just a bit of variety would be appreciated. The hotel is situated a long way from Rayong--In the day there are frequent minibuses at 20THb each way--but in the evening there are none and the taxi fare is 300thb--whaich once or twice is ok but it mounts up over 10 days. There is no night life near to the hotel either, save for the excellent beach restaurants about 20 minute walk away. The beach across from the hotel was not dirty but was always littered with plastic waste washed up from other locations. Nobody seemed to bother clearing it. For the money I paid--£140 for 10 days The Nice Beach was reasonable value but could be so much better for just a few improvemants which should be expected for a hotel of this size. In its defence--It was low season so perhaps things would be a bit better in high season.

Restaurant Tip : Make sure you find dinner location before 2000--most night all restaurants are closed by 20 30!!

Very old and quiet

It's not close to the beach. There is the road between the beach and the hotel. The hotel is so old and very very very quiet. So scaring and dangerous to go there at night. The room is not like in the picture. And service is not good at all. No one help to carry bags to the room.

The price was very good, as was the location and the beach facilities, food and drinks were good and easy to obtain from street vendors and a nice little shop on in the hotel parking lot.

Cleanliness and amenities were both lacking. The bed was a hard plastic-coated twin pushed together to make a king. That gave it a ridge in the middle and also made the covering slide all over while sleeping. And the mattress turned the lights on and off until I found the switch it butted up against.

We booked 5 rooms. 3 of them had so much mold in the bath tubs that the occupants asked for new rooms. Our room had a shower curtain ring but no curtain. When I asked for one I was told they did not have any. So the bathroom was coated with water each time we showered. But our room was clean enough. The rooms are just run down and need to be refurbished. The bed was not comfortable and the porch had no chairs. The food was barely passable and other restaurants are a long way off. The beach was nice looking initially but very polluted with plastic garbage washed up FROM the gulf, not by beach goers. The lady who sold food at the beach made GREAT food. The water was nice but littered with so much garbage that it made me wonder what was in it that I did not see, what was dissolved? We saw many thousands of tiny jellyfish that did not sting and at night phosphorescent plankton. But I would not go into that water again. The beach front was a pleasant place to sit and wile away the time. The hotel was very cheap and now I know why. For some that may be acceptable but the mold and polluted gulf water will keep me away.

Travel tip : The lady selling BBQ chicken from a cart, it was outstanding.
