Solo travelers Australia, April 09, 2013	Avoid this hotel Nothing... 3.3 The staff were hopeless and didnt care... especially breakfast where I had to cook my own toast in the toaster behind the kitchen... even though requesting an early breakfast which was supose dt be included I was initially told no when arriving at the breakfast area... the old guy running the kitchen didnt want to know... hopeless!

I need comfort and a good night's sleep, and that I got. I will definately stay here again if I need to be in Roi Et city.

Dirty, unfriendly staff, Wireless non existence, therefore if you have a better choice, do try. If you cannot avoid, then good luck. Hotel Feature Tip: Try to get the upper floor room.

Solo travelers Australia, January 07, 2013	From the outside it looks ok The best feature of the hotel: Leaving 3.7 this hotel is on par with some of the lower end hotels in china. staff are not friendly or helpful. rooms at best can be described as low end. noise from the night club located in the hotel is ridiculous... a/c worked well but was very noisy. i am surprised that agoda has this hotel on their list of hotels for roi et.

Solo travelers United Kingdom, December 18, 2012	1980's timewarp, bring own sheets 1980's hotel with character 6.7 I stayed here because of the many bad comments on Agoda and was not disappointed. Maithai is a classic old hotel, a bit like The Grace Hotel in Bangkok (another favorite). There are lots of thriving and dodgy businesses attached to it - sauna, massage, hairdressers, snooker room, bars and so on. So it has a fantastic sleazy appeal. It's also falling apart and has not been properly renovated for -probably - ever. Right now it falls on the side of scuzzy, but in a few years it will be hailed as a 1980s classic and might well be given a preservation order. Until then, it's not for everyone. The room was a bit stinky (smoking is allowed throughout). The electrical wiring is downright scary. The bathroom is a time machine set to 1986. But hot water is endless and the bath filled in 1 minute. No English TV. Breakfast - served in the 1980s dining room - is the classic Thai interpretation of the British fry up; hand carved sausages, overcooked eggs, lettuce and parsley. Coffee and creamer. All served by ancient and kindly old geezer in a smudged uniform. A joy, that is increasingly hard to find. Overall, the staff were lovely. I would stay here again. But I would bring my own sheets.

The hotel staff were very helpful and nice. The room was sparce and the hotel is really a provincial hotel with a karaoke which kicks on at night can be noisy. can be confronting for non seasoned travellers or solo female travellers.

Went to room and was met by a foul smell in hallway. Room was dark dated pre 1950's. carpet was awful needed replacing bathroom was disgusting, needed knocking out and refitting. Very old looking hotel and stains throughout towels and bed sheets. Shortly after checking in we checked out and never looked back Hotel Feature Tip: Has a sleazy bar and nightclub stuffed with bar girls.
