Basic rooms, helpful staff, & convenient location

the fact that they have a sam's guesthouse in kanchanaburi as well as in sai yok (70km) away is very convenient! the staff was very helpful, we had made a mix up about our arrangements, we were there for a half marathon but got the city mixed up! we were able to transfer our stay between the two locations! the sam's jungle guesthouse is basic but spacious. had ac and a large bed, wasn't the cleanest room, but it wasn't horrible. there isn't any wifi around and the location is pretty far off from anything. but when you reach the area, you'll understand, it's in the middle of no where! the sam's house in kanchanaburi is also basic and much smaller, but you get amenities such as wifi and hot water. the location there is also very convenient.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
if you're traveling to kanchanaburi for the half marathon, make sure you know that it is in sai yok, kanchanaburi and not the main city of kanchanaburi. we made that mistake, also doesn't help that there is a river kwai village hotel in both places.

ดูในรูปที่พักเป็นแบบกระท่อมเหมาะกับกาญจนบุรี พอไปถึงแทบหันหลังกลับ แต่ผีถึงหลุมนะก็ต้องเข้าไปเช็คอิน แม่เจ้า ทีวีไม่มี เงียบยังกะป่าช้า ไม่ขอกลับไปอีกเลย

ขับรถออกไปข้างนอกอย่างเดียวเลย เอาว่าอาศัยนอนแบบต้องข่มตาให้หลับ
