away from the main noise of chaweng
close to the beach, access to a pool (albeit very small), dvd player in room

very good budget option on chaweng beach. it is a 15 minute walk from the "main" part of chaweng, but the walk is pastt non-stop shops and restaurants, so this is not an issue. if anything, we found it nicer to be away from the noise of the main part of chaweng.
access to the pool is gained through the resort opposite. this was fine, although echo the views of previous posters that this could be a little awkward (i.e. were allowed to sit by the pool, but got told off for using the sun beds on the beach itself).
didn't try the food, but there is a restaurant/bar underneath the rooms. no issues with noise, but wifi connection from the restaurant bar did not reach our room. wifi connection in the bar was good though.
room was large and cleaned every day. there was a dvd player in the room and a dvd library (albeit very limited) and book library that could be used. shower struggled to get too hot, and aircon struggled to get cold unless left on for a while beforehand.
overall, enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anybody looking for a cheap and cheerful place in chaweng.

Lovely guesthouse, great amenities
close to the beach, great wifi in rooms

room was big and bright, it wasn't in the main guesthouse area it was a bit further down. each room had about 20 dvd's to choose from and there were even more outside the room. the guesthouse is about 2mins walk from the amazing chaweng beach. excellent value for money.

Basic budget accommodation. Could do with a bit of refurbishment and new furniture and fittings as it's looking a wee bit tired. Great for students in a budget.

cool place and good value
access to Seascape Resort across the road, funky, good wifi, cool staff, good value

I stayed in standard room and then upgraded to a superior (worth the extra). The place is the best value around (see pros + tea and coffee in superior room, + dvd's, + drinking water, clean and good bed). I searched around and could get another room a bit better and cheaper but not as good a atmosphere and would have lost access to Seascape resort, so I stayed a Akwa.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not miss the dinner at the beach. There is many hotels and resorts to choose and enjoy a nice dine at the beach.

Arrived to a small room upstairs & down the street from main reception area. Requested update & advised that would be Bht 1000 extra but downstairs room available @ no extra cost
Rooms stuffy dirty & smelt of cockroach spray. Also no security
Did not stay 2nd night booked as much nicer & cheaper accomodation nearby

Cheap, Funky & Cool!

loved it! cheap and cheerful and very very cool. the whole hotel has been really well thought out in terms of it's decor; it is a pretty standard place but instead of painting and decorating the whole place in neutral and boring colours, it's bright and colourful and has pop art artwork everywhere! even the lamps are cool, but you'll have to check them out for yourself to see what i mean!
good food too, not the cheapest of places around but well up to standard and still very reasonable, great breakfasts and even better pizzas! well worth a try!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go and see for yourself, in the middle of Chaweng and just across the road from an amazing beach.

i had a room in a different building down the street behinf a tattoo parlour , room pretty nice , really really noisy aircon , not good for sleeping.
good value rooms , tasty food in restaurants but very small portions and not great value , check-in girl was very friendly and helpful but all others were very grumpy.
quite a walk south on chaweng from nightlife centre a good 20 min walk

The hotel is very good value, close to the beach reasonably clean and allowed use of nextdoors pool the restraunt is ok as well. The only problem is that I poted for an upgraded room that included a bath and a balcony neither of which were supplied. I demonstrated my booking to the staff and displayed my booking and they just shrugged, what could I do?
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the national park its well worth the hike up the mountain.
