Couples United States of America, August 03, 2010	Great location Just behind Topps supermarket, on the beach, close to nightlife but quiet and relaxing 9.3 I stayed at Al's Resort 2 years ago and it has been improved with a new reception area and better service. The rooms are small and dark without much privacy from the neighbors but you cannot beat the location. Close to everything on Chaweng so beach activities in the day time and nightlife is close. Try Green Mango at midnight then move to Sound Pub at 3am and then to Solo until dawn. Before midnight, you can eat, drink, play pool, and get a massage but things awake after midnight on Chaweng. The hotel is close to everything so a good base day and night. Nightlife Tip: For variety, try Reggae Pub or go to any of the little bars along BoPhut and Mae Nam.

Couples Israel, August 01, 2010	great valur for money location, room condition, staff 8 room was very clean and in eccellent condition. every thing worked. the swiming pool area is very nice and quiet on the beach with a bar serving drinks to the pool side. the hotels location is perfect...1 min walk from the center of shopping and night life , on the beach, next to tops market, so you can stock you room with drinks and snacks.

It is (just) on the nice part of the beach. It is relatively quite at night but only a 5 minute walk up the street and you are in the heart of the bar area. There is nothing special about it but at the price it has everything that you would expect. The happy hour from 2 - 5, where they bring you drinks on the beach is great value.

Couples Myanmar, July 28, 2010	At the heart of Chaweng at the heart of chaweng beach 7 this resort got too many rooms and i can even hear the sounds of tv, or conversation from other rooms, no privacy at all. i paid about and the room is so basic and its far away from beach too. but the breakfast is ok. not many staffs for many guest rooms. one good thing about this resort is they have big supermarket near resort.

The shower is great, meaning it has really good water pressure, if that matters to you. The staff were very friendly, and you couldn't ask for a better location. You have access to the beach and to the restaurants and nightlife. I would stay here again and again. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Easy access to the beach and to go Island hopping

Solo travelers United Kingdom, July 22, 2010	Three night stay at Al's Resort Beautiful big rooms, beach towels provided, fantastic location. 8 I stayed three nights at Al's Resort and was really impressed. Lovely big rooms, huge comfy beds and I loved the towels folded to look like elephants when I arrived! Perfect location - my room was 20 steps to the beach - and set just off the main strip so easy access to all the shopping and nightlife in the evenings! I would highly recommend Al's Resort.

However the cleaning crew didn't daily refill the accessaries in the room and toilet, ie. water, soap, cap; we had to ask for them all the time. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: For Angthong Island, better traveling with the speed boat than the big boat because you will stop at many other islands apart from two main islands.

Couples Germany, July 17, 2010	Hotel living off it's location Location next to beach 5.3 Stayed in Al's Resort Deluxe Poolside Villa for two nights and liked the location - hated how little service they tender without immediately asking for money. It just did not make us feel welcome and appreciated. Example: Asked the receptionist to call a local travel agent roughly 200m across town to verify our pickup time the next day (local call!) and were asked to pay for the phone call immediately afterwards. Two drawbackks regarding the otherwise beautiful location on the beach: 1. Swimming gets annoying as jetskies are rented out immediately in front of the hotel to the left- and right-hand side. 2. Planes approaching Samui airport are passing over your head!

Couples Hong Kong, July 16, 2010	2 star hotel located at convenient location convenient location: few steps from supermarket, beach and restaurants 4.3 The location may be the only edge of this hotel. I've booked the deluxe courtyard room but there was no courtyard at all! There was a strong sewage smell at some part of the hotel and my bathroom that I had to keep the bathroom door closed. I couldn't sleep at all during the first night as the fireworks were non-stop till late mid-night. The 2nd night was better as it was raining, which meant no firework from the Chaweng beach. The drainage system was very bad during the rainy days that the path to my room was flooded! Hotel Feature Tip: Bring your own towel if possible. Either get it from top market, tesco or big c.

It was too cold as the fan strength could not be adjusted. The wind hit you directly. Breakfast was not too good, needs to be improved in taste and in variety.
