The location is beautiful & central. Also really close to the airport.

The service was really bad, staff unhelpful & too busy. Atmosphere was quite sterile.
Half the resort is placed across the road - no beach views.
Regardless of the beautiful environment, the service was horrible, and atmosphere sterile. Were left to wait over 5 hours before being given our room. There was obviously a mix up, but no one would tell us what it was. Really unfortunate - wasted most of the day of only a 3 day trip. Overall service was nowhere as warm, friendly or helpful as my other experiences in Thailand. Would definately not stay there again & would not recommended it to any one I liked.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The beach infront of the hotel isn't great for swimming, looks beautiful but is really muddy & has a lot of algae - much better if you walk about 10 minutes up.

prices of the food and drinks Amari Palm Reef, lovely hotel, good location 5 minutes walk from the main strip, and right on the beach. 2 nice pool complexes, plenty of loungers and unlimited towels. Excellent breakfast with endless choice. Downside is the cost of the meals and drinks, e.g a beer is 145 Bhat plus tax and service which is another 17% basically a beer is 170 bhat that's more than I pay in Melbourne city bars! Crazy when you can sit on the beach on the hotel loungers and get one from the beach sellers for 60 bhat. Generally a really nice place to stay and good value for the accomodation but spend your money elsewhere for food, drinks and massage/spa treatments as you can get a lot more for less. Prego is very overrated, not bad but very average for the prices charged.
Shopping Tip : Do not shop at the Royal King suit store, rude and abusive staff who don't bargain like the other stores.

nice resort with reasonable price, Prego-The Italian restaurant is Excellent!!!!, Breakfast is amazing, full of variety! No hot water in the shower, we waited for 30 min, and they sent 4 ppl (not at the same time but one by one) to fix it and did not offer to change to another room until we raise the request!!!!!!!!!!!!!! totally ruined our vacation!!! 1) When we arrived to the room after came back from the beach, what we want the most is to take a HOT SHOWER to clean up our sandy body!!! but there's not hot water and we waited for 30 min, and they sent 4 ppl (not at the same time but one by one) to fix it and did not offer to change to another room until we raise the request!!!!!!!!!!!!!! totally ruined our vacation!!! We were losing our patient and we called the reception and asked to change to another room, and.....we wait for another 15 min. to get the confirmation of it is ok for us to change room.....fianlly they took us to the new room and gave us a free upgrade to a better room!
2) Some of the staff there are not friendly, when they finnally took us to the new room, the stff gave us bad attitude!!! But some of the staff we being very helpful! they helped us to arrange the limo and point us to the attractions.
3) The Italian restaruant of theirs is very very nice, woth every penny, and it's a MUST go place!!! very good pasta, risoto, and pizza!!!
4) the breakfast is also very good too, full of different variety.
5) the hotel breach is very nice too, it's not their private owned, but it's very close to the hotel, although the water is very shallow, but it's definately safe for kids.

Is nice place and people. When we been in this hotel is so nice for sevice the food at the hotel so many I so much happy when stay there. I can swim with my boyfriend in swim pool so nice so much beautiful the place we took so many of picture also dinner at the hotel nearly every night begin we only book for 4 night only but because of we like the place we stay longer then we stay more 2 night we have so much good time.

Would have preferred to be on the beach side of road. Perfect location, not too far from all the bars / clubs.. Great food and would go back again. Hotel is in 2 parts, 1 side on the beach and the other half on the other side of the road. The aircon is the best ever, came back to the room and the door was dripping cold! Staff are attentive and well versed. Great place look fwd to going back

Located near Sky Train, very friendly and helpful staff, clean. My husband and I stayed here the first few days and the last day of our trip to Thailand. We liked the location because it was a short walk to the Sky Train, which was easy to use to get around the city. The front desk staff and restaurant staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Beautfiul pool and beachside, hotel rooms were very nice and the bathrooms were amazing and elegant. will definately stay here again of back in koh samui about a 15 min walk to center of town, but edge of town only 3min walk. Amari's facilities are definately top of the line, they have two pools and a wonderful spa area. The pool by the beach was the best that I saw among the Chaweng Beach hotels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms and bathrooms were excellent and definately could not ask for more. I definately plan on staying here if I am ever back in Koh Samui. Next time I need to try the spa treatments, they sounded amazing.
Shopping Tip : if booking tours, shop around the town on both sides of Amari, some are alot cheaper than others

Hotel is pretty close to the airport, we were not lucky with the weather, rained all time. Our room was on the other side of the street, pretty quiet. A Swimming poll and the spa are on this side of the resort. we appreciated particularly Prego restaurant. Buffet Breakfast was good. Prices a bit higher than what you can find along the road, but not super expensive. Staff courteous but a bit cold. room was pretty large.

The breakfast! -Extensive selection catering for all nationalities - the best breakfast buffet I've ever encountered!
The pool - lovely pool with waterfall feature.
The decor - very modern and well designed. The Amari Palm Reef Resort was definitely one of the best hotels on the main beach. From the moment you arrive you are guaranteed an excellent stay. The breakfast has the most amazing selection catering for every nationality and is delicious. The décor throughout the hotel is modern and well designed and the rooms are spacious. The main pool has a waterfall like feature in the middle and plenty of beds and sun shades. You can even take out free dvds to play in your room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation. It was brilliant in every way!
Hotel Feature Tip : The accomodation is over the road but this isn't a problem as the hotel has men who stop the traffic for you!
Ask for a room overlooking the 2nd pool as these are larger than near the main pool larger, for the same price. The ones near with a garden view are the furthest away from the main pool and the beach.
Try the italian restaurant across the road! Amazing food and great prices. We ate there nearly every night because it was so good!

Clean, modern, luxurious, great private beach and swimming pools (beach side and garden side). Really great breakfast buffet I stayed at Amari Palm Reef Resort from March 11 to March 16th. Originally I had only booked up to March 14th but I extended my stay having enjoyed my stay there so much. Everything was really nice and just the kind of pampering you want to have when you're on a vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also had awesome breakfast buffet.

this hotel has a wonderful position on the beach at chaweng in koh samui. The staff and the hospitality was excellent and the breakfast superb. as it is at the quieter end of the beach it was more secluded from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife but close enough to walk to it for entertainment. As stated above this hotel has a fantastic position on chaweng beach with excellent facilities and extremely hospitable staff. It was far enough away from the busy nightlife to be relaxing and nice to walk along beach at night. The deluxe rooms were a very good size and upgrades are usually available. I would not hesitate to recommend this very good amari hotel

Hotel is right past the end of the north end of chaweng road, so it is literally next to the city life without all the noise. Room although nice, seemed old. specifically the bathroom
Nice hotel, better than the ones that are located in the center of chaweng. However you can probably find a newer, better, bigger resort if you go slightly more out of the city.
The hotel is located right by a reef which provides for a nice spot on the ocean with calm waters. Also if you like to scuba dive they have a dive center right there at the resort.

Quiet location but a walkable distance to the main 'delights' of Chaweng. Also on the beach and with two nice pools. Good breakfast. It is close to the airport so a couple of times a day you get a close up look! but less than a couple of minutes all day. This hotel is very clean and well looked after, like you'd expect from an Amari. The rooms are big, very clean and have good facilities. The bathrooms are again spacious and with plenty of room. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are two pools, with one being right on the beach. The breakfast is a very good buffet and sets you up for the rest of the day! The hotel is a walkable distance to Chaweng but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. Like all Amari's get the beer outside as they triple the price! Overall a great hotel and will be going back.
Travel tip : Grab a beer outside as a lot more in the resort!
