Anantara Lawana Resort & Spa is ideally located few minutes from the airport and walking distance from Chaweng center but keeps still distance to indulge peace and tranquility. All 122 villas have distinct character and although you get the impression to stay in a private Thai home they are enhanced with all amenities you expect from a resort in its class. All of the villas come with AC, in room safe, mini bar, tea and coffee, flat screen plasma TV, DVD, Hi-speed internet, extra large bath room with full amenities. Most of the guests even enjoy their private plunge pool at the villa and a shady terrace.

Very relaxed, quiet on the busiest beach
great room Need an alarm clock in the room, also blinds on one of the windows as early morning sun woke us up
Cost of breakfast in the hotel We had a great trip to Koh Samui and the hotel was fantastic. It was very quiet as we went in an off peak time, and felt as though there was no one in the hotel and we had our own private beach. Highly recommend hiring a scooter to get around as it is son cheap compared to catching taxis everywhere. Pay a little extra and have a quiet sanctury to retire to in the evening. Everyone was very friendly although I recommend going down to the main area for breakfast, as very expensive in the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Head to the main area, food is fantastic in the main street, and much cheaper than the hotel. Even the local places around the hotel are about 20% of the price of the hotel and great quality

The theme of the hotel is the old Thai houses which is amazing. We loved the open bathroom and shower. The Sala (living room) was also outdoor. We also liked the location, far enough from the centre to enjoy the quietness, and was only 15 minutes walk to the centre of Chaweng Beach. I have to say the food. There weren’t enough choices to order from the room service. They lack the essentials; like burgers or club sandwiches. We ordered a club sandwich once, and we were very surprised with what came in it. There was chicken, some Indian spicy sauce, and other things that had nothing to do with club sandwiches. We stayed in Villa Lawana from the 23rd of September 2009 till the 28th. This is our second stay in Villa Lawana. We loved the Thai theme of the rooms, staff were very very nice. They even offered to upgrade us from private pool suite to the pool side villa. First time in 2008, we stayed in the pool side villa. The hotel was almost empty – after the shutdown of the airport - so we had the pool for ourselves. This time we chose the private pool suite and even refused the upgrade cause it was so nice. The breakfast is not bad. The room has a plasma TV, mini bar, all amenities and two umbrellas. I would definitely stay there again.

The infinite pool overseeing the beach is definitely the selling point. Free WiFi is great. Bath tub is good for 2 people. Good for couples. They have Starsports - important for watching Wimbledon! Food are too pricey for their quality. Room is far away from everything - beach, pool, gym, lobby, restaurant, etc. So many mosquitoes! No good for family with kids. The swimming pool is awesome - the sea view, brick color, shape, water depth, children pool - excellent design. Staffs are very sincere. My room is far away from lobby and the beach but the resort club car make up the downside of distance. Food taste good but very pricey per their quality. Free wireless network in the room is great. Bath tub is good for 2 people. Good for couples but no good for family with kids.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Motorbike around the first corner only costs 150B per day while the one right opposite the resort costs 180B for the same bike.
