Solo travelers China, May 04, 2013	Colorful, close to the Beach decoration, location, swimming pool 9 Though we only spent 1 night there at Baan Samui Resort, the experience is unforgettable..Suggest to stay in this Resort at the very first days you in Samui, it's on the Chaweng street, which owns the center of the island, shopping, bars ,restaurants.. Baan Samui has its own beach, though a small part of Chaweng beach, it's perfect without many people crowded, no many people selling stuff..very cool! No free wifi.

Central location, on the beach 6.7 Like most resorts in Chaweng this one stretches from the Main Rd down to the beach, this differs in not being a series of chalets but two parallel blocks, one 2 storey, the other 3 storey running the length of the resort. Having as a theme a Mexican/adobe look with multi coloured decoration. It actually seems to work quite well giving the place a colourful holiday feel. The garden running the length of the resort between the two blocks is well established and kept immaculate by the constant attention of several gardeners. Breakfast is pretty good with the typical hot+cold buffet inc an egg station. The rooms (deluxe) are of moderate size with huge beds and everything you need. Kept clean with fresh towels for the room and the beach every day. It's a shame that breakfast is served at the road end of the resort and not the beach end, every other resort we've stayed in has breakfast overlooking the ocean. There are bars serving food at both ends of the resort (live music at the road end). The pool is a good size, clean and with plenty of shade. Criticisms... smells from the bathroom plumbing "Spanish drains". A high proportion of German guests means one thing, you've guested it, towels on the sunbeds! And uniquely, this Hotel CHARGES for wifi. Think it's 100Bt a day, not sure, wouldn't pay it. Every other hotel, bar and restaurant however small has free wifi, a minor inconvenience maybe but can be irritating if you just want to check something before you go out, maybe it should be avoided for this alone? A mid range resort centrally located.
