Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Extended my stay for the 3rd time
8.7
As you can see, I have extended my stay at this resort for the third time. Great price for the room and we were really comfortable with everything about this place.
We did walk around and checked out other resorts (next door and other beaches), but we decided to stay on. Reason being, it was the best deal that we can find.
Beds were comfy, toilets were functioning..really liked the atmosphere of this place...

beach front location
nice clean rooms, close to the action but you can sleep at night
9
firstly, the hotel is undergoing reno's, and the pool closed. but there wasn't much construction noise, the beach is right out front, very still and perfectly safe for children. the new pool looks great, not sure when will be finished.
i booked two beachfont, two 'pool side' rooms. all were clean, plenty of space, good a/c, and we loved being able to all hang out on the balconies overlooking the beach, been offered mango's and icecreams from the beach sellers.
would definately come back, particularly when all the renos are finished.
all the staff were lovely to us, particularly to the 9 year old, who had the restaurant staff really look after her.
i found the massage place on your left outside the hotel "smile massage" really good.
their website has problems, but email info@ for all extra enquires and you should be taken care of.
Travel tip:
if you can afford it, and they are available, go for a beachfront room!

We initially wanted to move to a different hotel. However, after scouring through Agoda looking for a hotel that has a good deal, we decided to stay on at Baan Talay Resort.
For the amount of money that we were paying, we felt that it is of good value. The rooms were comfortable, clean, yea amenities could have been better but with the amount that we were paying, it was well worth it...
Consider this place even though it's almost at the tail end of Chaweng but it's great to be away from the main street and all. 20 baht for a tuk tuk ride down Chaweng.

The staff were very rude and not at all accommodating. The location however was superb.

Lovely Hotel, Welcoming Staff
8.3
If you are keen to book the hotel, you should. Don't bother with the poolside rooms as the pools are under construction. The rooms we booked were decent, clean rooms, nice sitting area outside the room. Not much of a view but the beach is on the quitter part of Chaweng. Lesser ppl in the area and the water is clearer.

Nice cozy hotel with average service
Beach front room, good location
7
During the time I stayed, the hotel was having construction. The main swimming-pool and everything in the middle area is closed. If you want to use swimming-pool, it is not available. I recommend you to choose garden or beach front room because there is no swimming-pool, so pool view room isn't a smart choice for this time. I chose to stay in beach front room which is not near the construction. The room is nice, big and well-decorated. The beach view is gorgeous. The hotel restaurant is very relaxing with beach view. The food and price is pretty good. I like the friendly service of staffs at the restaurant. However, the Thai receptionist is not so professional and not so prompted.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are red buses run around island. The price starts at 50 Baht ( in day time) each depends on the route.

Lovely Bungalow and nice staff
Good location, big room and good price

We wanted relax and we got it... Lovely and quiet bungalow (despite repairs in swimming-pool and reception). Pictures from website are exactly like our room.
Friendly staff (specially woman from reception). The restaurant needs new look, lower prices and better timetable.
And the beautiful beach is very close

Good location, but services lacking
Nice location right on the beach

i think it was an ok stay for the right price, but the hotel amenities and service were a bit lacking. breakfast was very average. beach umbrellas were a chore to set up and no one is around to help.

very good location and excellenve service. very near cha-weng beach. good location for relaxing and sightseeing. very cheap price and delicious breakfast. you can rent the motorcycle just only day for drive around the samui island or rent a car just only dat. i reccomend you to rent the car because distance of each beach is quite far.
Restaurant Tip:
Don't forgot to go to Sa-Seang-Lay resturant
