Food, Drink and Entertainment
You need to plan on staying at Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam for at least a week to enjoy all the delicious food offered at the resort's four food and beverage outlets, which have brilliantly blended fine cuisine served in a fresh, elegant atmosphere against the superb aquamarine backdrop of the Gulf of Thailand. Be prepared for an Epicurean treat. If you fancy a quiet meal in your room, select from a magical variety of Thai, Asian and international dishes on the 24-hour room service menu.
Lom Talay A gentle breeze at night can add to the magical atmosphere at Lom Talay, the outdoor restaurant whose name translates as 'sea breeze'. Lom Talay has a cosy, chimerical feel. Guests can gaze out at the distant sea and watch the magnificent sunset. Twilight cocktails can be followed by a selection of genuine Thai dishes cooked with a unique flair. A variety of Asian and Mediterranean dishes are prepared at Lom Talay and somehow the sea breeze adds a unique flavour to the meal. Lom Talay can seat 60 people.
The Promenade Offers savoury seafood, including fresh sea bass, red snapper, deep-sea garoupa, lobster, crab and squid. The chef himself goes to the fishing village of Taling Ngam every day to buy the freshest supplies. This restaurant also serves breakfast, lunch and snacks including pizzas and salads. Tropical cocktails and an extensive selection of wine provide something special for everyone. The Promenade can seat 40.
Baan Chantra An exquisite restaurant serving royal Thai cuisine. Follow your culinary curiosity and arouse your taste buds whilst discovering the harmony between sweet, salty and sour ingredients in Thai cooking. This restaurant offers inside and outside seating, and you may choose between traditional Thai cushions or Western-style tables while being entertained by classical Thai music and dances.
The Pool Deck For a casual midday repose from waterfront activities, The Pool Deck is the place to be. Guests sitting by the pool can be served cocktails and light snacks. The view from here, as from every corner of the resort, is breathtaking, with Ang Thong Marine National Park and its neighbouring islands visible in the distance.
Verandah Bar At dusk, watch the sun setting on the horizon from the Verandah Bar. This intimate bar is a pleasant place to unwind after a day of sunbathing, snorkelling and a massage. The Verandah Bar can seat 20.
Romantic Beach Dining If you are looking for an intimate evening on the beach, then you should opt for Romantic Beach Dining. We will create the perfect private ambience in magnificent surroundings. A table for two or even more, seated on traditional Thai cushions and surrounded by torches while listening to the sea breeze caressing the waves.
The Sala Thai The perfect venue, next to the pool, for an intimate dinner. Experience romance with a Thai touch while overlooking the Gulf of Thailand atop the cliff, surrounded with candlelight. We are delighted to offer you a wide range of Thai menus, which will transform your night into a unique experience. This venue seats two to eight persons.
Villa BBQ Made for those who wish to stay in privacy in their own villa while enjoying a barbecue and having a memorable evening. One of our chefs will be present to arrange everything for you. Our offer features three mouth-watering barbecues: The Reef Side, which combines the freshest seafood from the region, The Ranch Side, for a selection of meat and The Ranch and Reef Side, to enjoy them both.
Lemongrass Seafood restaurant in a quiet and temperate surrounding. Chill out every evening with fine wine while listening to classical music.

We were really pleased with the resort and service. At times we felt we were the only ones there. Great place to relax in solitude.

Stunning west facing views as the hotel is on high ground and overlooks the sea/islands. Friendly staff, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Nice beach and pool areas.
Not sure we'd return due to the large number of surly, bad mannered Russians that seem to be typical guests. Not the hotels fault but certainly something that would affect our decision to return.
Because the hotel is in a very quiet part of the island, you are restricted food wise to the hotel and the one or two next door. You need a car or taxi really to travel to more down to earth, relaxed and cheaper restaurants.
A beautiful hotel with a variety of rooms, villas and all decorated in a gorgeous modern Thai style. All rooms, villas are on the side of the hill or down by the beach and chauffeured golf buggies ferry you up and down the hill, which is quite fun! From the lobby bar/restaurant, there is the most breathtaking view we had see in some time, west facing to the sea/islands and amazing sunsets.
Restaurant Tip : Sunset Restaurant in Nathon was a great little place on the seafront with good food. Also worth a drive out to the little restaurants to the beaches south of the hotel, near Coconut Village Resort - again, good food.

Very nice view and thoughful decor. Beach and hotel are not busy. Very good buggy service to send hotel guests from hotel to beach and vice versa.
It is quite far from the airport and be ready to stay at the hotel for the rest of your booking. Don't try the Thai set dinner, only serve once a week.
We like the hotel very much though it's quite far from other attractions and the airport. Staff are very friendly and service is good. They provide some water sports facilities but weather can be quite unpredictable on the western side of the island. We enjoyed the happy hour as well despite the absence of the magnificent sunset during our stay!
