Friendly staff.
Immaculate grounds, swimming pool area and beach. Becoming expensive per square meter of room! This was our third stay at Banana Fan and was once again most enjoyable. service is good; breakfasts are excellent; the grounds, swimming pool area, beach were spotless-- no shortage of chairs and towels.

Good location and facilities- close to shops Banana Fan is an older style resort- well maintained and good value for money- we stayed in a large room near the reception area- hotel provided us with a DVD player free of charge- great because it rained for 3 days of our 6 day holiday. Very good resort- great beach with waves.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a car opposite Banana Fan was good value- 1200 Baht /day

I really can recommend this hotel. we stayed before in some other places in Thailand without booking in advance and for the last days in samui i wanted to a good place for relaxing and with good service. on the beginning i read many reviews on all webpages about this hotel and i had some doubts but as we arrived i was very happy about my choice. everything was very nice with a lot of details in the room and in the whole hotel area. The staff was very friendly. The beach had own sun chairs from the hotel and we always found one for ourselves. we went around samui and also the beach was the the best in samui (in our opinion). we really had a good time in the banana fan hotel. the restaurant and the bar was very expensive.

Great Location, well managed, good breakfast buffet (for westerners)
Beach is great with plenty chairs, very tidy with security. Rooms too small (Superior) Banana Fan Sea is a well kept Hotel in the 3-star category.
Location is great in the heart of Chaweng with an abundance of restaurants around, also the hotel restaurant is good and reasonably priced.
The problem is the size of the rooms - we booked two superior rooms, just too small. This is actually the only reason why I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. The peak season rate we had to pay was just too high for these rooms.

The centrally-located hotel is warm and welcoming, offering comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. It has a clean, large beach and resaurant with excellent food. The staff are helpful and friendly offering a warm home away from home service. The rooms need a little revamping, but overall they are clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic time at the hotel, which is centrally-located near restaurants and shops. The hotel is warm and welcoming, offering comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. It has a clean, large beach and resaurant with excellent food. The staff are helpful and friendly offering a warm home away from home service. We had a fantastic time at the hotel and would definately stay there again. The hotel is small and intimate with friendly staff and excellent service offering a great vacation in a positive setting.
Restaurant Tip : Club sandwhich is delicious!

A very nice hotel with a good location if you dont want to be in the "middle of it" but still close to where it is happening! Really good staff and clean rooms! Its ON the beach, and its NOT the crowded part of Chaweng! Actually nothing, direct! Maby that the deluxeroom was a little bit small! Clean, well furnished, close to the beach, not too far from the night life and shops, excellent food, Rooms are slightly small. We have stayed at the Banana Fan before and were not disappointed this time. The rooms have been refurbished and are bright and clean. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after. The staff are very helpful, especially Bond in the restaurant. Only one little gripe, we were there recently during the problem at Bangkok when all flights were cancelled and we were standed, luckily we still had rooms as my husband and father in law were staying longer; but our friends had to book an extra 5 nights and there was no reduction and not all the reception staff were very sympathetic, in fact one bordered on quite rude, as it was our friends first time there it has not encouraged them to book again. I am sure something could have been done for them as nobody was getting onto or off the Island, due to this my husband at the end of his planned stay was still stuck so changed hotels.

On the beach, clos to shops, restaurants and nightlife. Quiet, clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful Rooms are quite compact, but adequate Enjoyed our stay despite the fact it rained for 8 days and only brightened up on the day we were due to come home, but then we got standed for 5 days due to the problem in Bangkok, so that improved everybodied opinion of the Hotel. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. The hotel is close to everything you will need. The staff cannot do enough for you, they are friendly and smiling at all times. Food in the restaurant is first class.

Close to everything in the chawang strip.\nClean rooms.\nHelpful staff. Nothing that i can think of. We stayed in the Banana Fan for 10 days for our honeymoon.\nThe room was surprisingly clean and no tipical island-insects were in sight.\nThe hotel facilities are great. The breakfest buffet is reach and fresh.\nThe front beach is clean and quiet.\nthe massages were awsom!\nWe were surprised how the hotel stays so isolated from the noise and the mess of the Chawang street and still only 5 minutes walk from Chawang center.\nTwo notes:\n1. laundry is much cheaper out side of the hotel (2 minutes walk left of the hotel)\n2. the hotel restaurant is expencive and not that great.\nWe will definately return to the Banana fan for our next Thailand vacation!
Restaurant Tip : the isrish pub \"Tropical Murphys\" is 10 minutes walk from the hotel and offers the best meals we had in Samui.

Villa accommodation. Right on the beach.
Beautiful gardens. Having to walk up and down steps to get to the foyer from your room or the street. We loved the Banana Fan. Right on the beach which had white sand and clean water. The pool area was excellent with a very clean pool. Easy access down to the beach, were you could also sit under an umbrella on a beach lounge. The resort is very clean and the gardens beautiful. Highly recommended.
Travel tip : We liked, and would recommend the hotel but we weren't too fussed with Samui. Thought it would be a bit more up market but we found it crumby. Wouldn't go back.

Very central and good service We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which we found very central to all activities. Excellent breakfast selection and very courteous and attentive staff, I would recommend this hotel. The rooms were clean and modern looking, the grounds were also clean. Check in was swiftly done at reception and we plan to book this hotel again on our next visit to Koh Samui.
