Clean and tidy, great room and view, location, helpful and polite staff, nice swimming pools, good breakfast.
Expensive drinks and nothing else!
My wife and our 3 year old daughter stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Relaxing atmosphere and very clean, our room had a great view from the balcony over the great pools and across the bay towards Chaweng beach. The hotel is not on the beach but runs a regular shuttle to 2 differant beaches and so no need to worry about transport, although it is a good idea to rent a scooter to run about on for about 200 Baht a day.
I would definately stay here again next time we go to Samui and loved the island ang hotel

* clean rooms
* spectacular views from room and lobby
* helpful staff
* high price relative to alternatives
Although we had a difficult trip to the island(Air Asia's website made it look deceptively easy to get to the island, the reality is that it took 7 hours to get to our hotel after landing) and short stay , we were satisfied with the hotel. Recommend renting motorbikes as the hotel is sufficiently far from the rest of the retail establishments to warrant it.

The view, the view, and did i mention..... the view.Nice rooms and plenty of pools, 4 in total.
Is away from Chaweng a bit, but wouldnt have the view if it was closer.Restaurant a bit expensive
This a classy hotel, the view is incomparable,be up by 6am to catch a magic sunrise.Staff are friendly and helpful, good english.Plenty of things to do at the hotel, with the pools, games room fitness room etc.Away from Chaweng but they do provide shuttles for free.Rent a motorbike, its more fun.

Not too close the town. Big balcony
The pools are not cleaned enough. Lot of different things were floting all the time.
The location of this hotel is excellent between two beaches. The hotel-provided shuttle to Lamai beach is working well. If you want to be out of Cheweng noisy 24 hour life this is a right hotel for you. Because hotel is located on hill side the views down to Cheweng bay are marvellous. The best place for lovers!

Swimming pool, nice and quiet rooms, great views
Out of the way, not close to any of the beaches, not many guests, boring breakfast, low water pressure
This hotel is probably very good for large groups of people who can entertain themselves, otherwise there is nothing else in the area. It takes about 15-20 driving to one of the beaches (Chaeweng or Lamai) - don't even think about walking!
The rooms were nice and quiet but not great as there was a bit of a weird smell in the hollway, especially in the evenings.
The place looked deserted in high season and the restaurant didn't have many guests in the evening (we've dined few times - food was ok).
Breakfast was a different story - boring if not horrible, eggs, bacon , rice, toasts and jam - you get the picture: same thing every day. Maybe we stayed too long...
The staff is friendly but the hotel is boring. We had grat time in Koh Samui but Best Western wasn't responsible for that.
Would I return? - not to this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You must take a trip to Angthong National Marine Park, it's beautiful. And climb that view point - it's challenging (and takes more than an hour both ways) but it's worth it!

Away from the city. Not well connected.
The hotel is quite nice and value for money. But should provide transport to the cheweng beach more frequently. it is located away from the city so commuting is a problem. Taxi charge a lot of money for such a small distance.

Quiet, stunning bird's eye view, wonderful pools, free shuttle to beaches.
We booked this hotel based on past best western experiences and the positive reviews from fellow travelers. This is a wonderful hotel we would definitely come back to should we visit Koh Samui again.
The staff is very courteous, warm, and friendly. The free shuttles were always on time to take us to the two beaches. Although we had to take a taxi or tuk tuk back to the hotel in the evenings, we enjoyed the experience of riding a tuk tuk. Great breakfast.
we had a deluxe ocean view room and it was wonderful. we had the best view on the island, also easy access to the pools. it was just the best place to be for x'mas. although we didn't join the big parties on the beach because we have young children who have early bed time, we still shared in the fun from our balcony, listening to the music and watching lanterns flying up the sky... it was beautiful and romantic. we are pretty sure the party went on all night, but we still had a great sleep because it was so quiet in the room still. just a nice hotel all around and excellent value.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Chaweng beach has nicer sand for beach activities, but both Chaweng and Lamai have great shopping and dining. Get a Thai massage on the beach.

view.
service.
shuttle.
food.
rooms.
location - secluded and more expensive for taxis.
restaurant is expensive.
The BW Samui Bayview is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe Seaview room at the beginning of December, which is still considered low season, so we got a really good rate for our room. When we were there, the hotel was very quiet...not sure if this is because it was low season or because the airport in Bangkok was closed due to the riots.
The room we had was really nice...modern facilities, a bathtub and a shower curtain on the shower. A beautiful view off the balcony where we had breakfast delivered each morning - this too may have been because there were only a couple of people staying in the room - if it was busier, it may have been a buffet breakfast instead.
The restaurant is a little pricey but the food is quite good. There was really nowhere else to eat unless you were in town somewhere.
The shuttle service was really nice...leaves the hotel during the day every hour and returns from their sister hotel in Lamai at quarter past every hour until 5:15.
The only other negative was that one night we went downstairs to play pool and quickly left as there were bats flying around and a large lizard was sitting on a ledge by the pool table...not the company we were hoping to have.
All in all I would recommend this hotel - unless you need to be close to the action.

Amazing views.
Warm environment.
Nice people.
Very clean.
Small bathroom/shower/towels.
When we arrived we were captured by the view of the bay. The hotel is on a little hill that face the sea, between Chaweng and Lamai. Perfect if you rent a motorbike, otherwise they provide a complimentary bus for the beach in Lamai. Rooms are cleaned even if the bathroom is not big. Every room has a big terrace. Receptionist are kind and friendly.

I'm suprised to stay Best western samui bayview due to big rooms, good facility and hospitality.
Not included pool and lobby due to rainy season,However staff are very friendly.
Some of staff only understand simple english.
Mostly customer are foreigners, hope to understand english.Reception is ok.
Location is far from downtown and no special transportation after 5pm to downtown area.
Therefore I request to them to operate Lamai/Chaueng area 1 bus per hour after 6 to 9pm.Also no taxi service consolidate customer to airport only charter buses.

The big problem in Samui is the extortionate rates that local taxi/motorcycle drivers charge. There is obviously some kind of price-fixing going on. Despite having previously arranged hotel transport, the hotel's minibus failed twice to pick me up in Chawneg town, even after I telephoned to re-confirm my location.
Hotel Feature Tip : Don't miss the classic cars just outside the main entrance.

Good value for money.
Travel tip : if you plan to rent a motorbike do it at the hotel reception, as going to town by taxi costs as a day of rental and the prices at the hotel are quite the same than in town.
