Bhundhari Spa Resort and Villa Samui - A Centara Resort, Samui

We have been 5 days in september 2009 in the Bundhari Resort wich is a very nice resort, decoration & equipements are very nice (gold leaves decoration, nice paintings, big bath in ocean view villas and nice jacuzzi in pool villas), rooms, bathrooms and terrace are big, the resort is very clean. BUT The MAJOR problem is that apart the big window opening to the terrace, there are absolutely no windows on other walls but only shutters with 1 cm open spaces between every strip which let all insects come in the room (mosquitos, but eventually ants, spiders, or even snakes, as we saw a black snake around the swimming pool). We have been bitten during the night approximatively 50 times in 2 days by mosquitos, wich was very unconfortable for a good sleeping but more important that can lead to real healthcare or safety problems (paludism, allergies or any disease provided through blud or insects)!!! We have been asking for plugs, but even with 2 plugs the mosquitos were still very hungry. As a conclusion we have been talking to the guest manager assistant, then the guest manager, then the general manager but we have received the same 3 answers : we cannot do anything!!As we had to pay directly to the resort an upgrade from a ocean view villa (far from the sea) to a pool villa, I refused to pay this upgrade, they accepted it, but the general manager told us that what we were doing was silly!!! I told him that I have been in Koh Samui 12 & 11 years ago, there was quite no resort but only very simple bungalows on the beach with only fans for travelers, but I never had these kind of problems. Thai people knows that insects can bother, so they know houses need to be protected from insects. When you are going in Thailand you know that you have to take care because there are a lot of insects, and usually you are going in this purpose as there are very nice butterflies, dragonflies, even very nice snake...

Quite a distance from the chaweng beach. Without any car you need to pay quite some fees on taxi. Not and easy place to find for people who drove on the island. Anyway they did had a very helpful and friendly staffs to take care of you. NIce buffet breakfast that u can have in the morning.

Awful location, Awful setting on a very steep hill, cheating guests in leading them to believe they have a sea view (yes if you break your neck from the balcony you can see the sea), basically no access to the lousy beach, after you have crossed the main road that splits the hotel in 2 parts; Awful attitude of the staff at the reception, trying to coerce guests to upgrade to a better view of the sea ... and unresponsive; Awful location of the Air Conditioning unit which blows cold air right on you in the bed facing it; Awful and dangerous laout of the bathroom: water gets everywhere in the room after one shower ...
