The room with jacuzzi tub, friendly service, free scuba lesson, the breakfast, the beef salad, and one pool has a bar you can swim up to.

Wished our main window in our bedroom did not face the public walkway.

We loved the Chaweng Regent. Its a nice resort with one pool facing the ocean. The spa was the first place we got a massage, it was extremely relaxing and great. The price was a bit high when we walked the beach to compare, but at least we had a baseline massage to compare everything else to. If you like the night life and like to be in the mixed of everything, Chaweng Beach is the place to be. If you want a quiet time, with no one bugging you to buy their wares on the beach, I'd suggest staying at a more quiet part of the island. Oh yea, be very careful of people trying to drag you into a vacation club. This group called absolute is all over the island and if you dont want to be part of a vacation timeshare thing, just say no and dont take any of their flyers or scratch cards. Get the corn on the cob from the local person on the beach, its soooo good.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a scooter, then you dont need to deal with taxis and tuk tuks trying to rip you off. Just make sure you take it easy riding, the road sometimes has gravel on it.

Outstanding service. Cordial staff. Great food. All at a fare price. Hard to beat and right in the middle of town yet quiet and secure surroundings.

Stayed at the Regent 6 years ago, getting close for bathroom updates. Nevertheless, a great stay without standing services

Perfect location with private access to the beach. Room service was outstanding and the staff made us feel very special during out 7 night stay. It would be difficult not to put the Regent near the top of the list of places to stay on Samui.

Restaurant Tip : While the food is great at the Regent don't forget to explore the wonderful options for dining that are all conveniently located near the regent. But to kick back on holiday the Regent is the best.

A reliable recommendation ! Guest Rating: 8.3

The food was great; Desk clerks and maids were very friendly; rooms were clean and comfortable.

there were some mosquitoes in the room.

The best sentence that defines this hotel is "everything was in its place." The "order" is a high priority for me and fortunately I could find it in The Agoda Hotel. Next point is the great view which we enjoyed during our stay. The food was great; people were so nice there; and all the services were good. Just one negative point was that there were some mosquitoes that did not let us to have rest sometimes. But generally, I would recommend Agoda hotel to anyone who is looking for a reliable place for staying.

Lovely grounds, great beachfront location.

Some rooms are very small and some are noisey - see review below

We were booked in to a 'deluxe' bungalow but after five minutes of trying to unpack we realised that the bungalows are not big enough to swing a cat in and there is hardly any storage. We moved to a room on the first floor but it had an connecting door with very little sound proofing quality. After one night of listening to German television until 0200 hrs we moved again to a room near the inner pool which was much better and closer to a deluxe standard. The hotel itself is very well maintained in lovely grounds and is in a great location on the beach and close to the town centre. We went to a few other hotels duting our stay and would say that the Regent seemed to be one of the better ones.

Restaurant Tip : Pick up one of the free resteraunt guides from the reception area. There are some great eating experiances if you know where to look.

2 swimming pools, located right on the beach great buffet breakfast

right under the flight path for samui airport fireworks let off every night on the beach

This hotel was awesome. Accidently booked a room with a king bed and we were upgraded to twin single beds. Just a short stroll to the 2 pools and breakfast. Every thing about this place we loved the spa was good and great gym and being right on the beach with a beautiful sea breeze made laying by the pool quite comfortable. would stay here again and recommend

Great tropical setting, great pool area by the beach, great location for shopping, swim, sun back and seafood restaurants. Loved it.

Restaurant was a bit pricey to eat at regularly though the food was good. Great rooms but a bit on the average size (shouldn't be in Samui if you are spending your time in your room).

This resort is in a great location if you are looking for the three ss's. Swim, shopping and seafood all three prominent in this area. The hotel itself is in a tropical setting with a real Thai feel. Get a salute from one of the security guards and feel your family is in a safe environment. Great rooms but a bit on the average size. Royal suite is nice for family of 4. Great resort for family or couples highly recommended.

Shopping Tip : There is a group next door absolute selling timeshare/holiday type investment, they try and reel you in with a scratch and win ticket and offer you a 90 minute presentation that goes for 3-4 hours and a $34,000 US pitch at the end. Don't waste your precious holiday time. Great location for restaurants, shopping, great beach for swimming etc.

Attractive room with outdoor seating area, lux semi open-air bathroom with large round jacuzzi tub. Nice pools, including one with a "swim up" bar. Well kept property.

Persistent, strong sewage stench from drain in bathroom. Lack of hot water, inattentive staff. Minimum 2.5 hour fee for internet.

The Chaweng Regent provides quick, quiet and soothing relief from the hustle-bussle of the main drag as soon as you're through the door. While welcomed with a cool drink, my experience with staff was underwhelming; the tendency was for groups of employees to gather and gossip versus showing interest(let alone a sincere/warm attitude) for guests. I'm not hard to please, but was not feeling the love. Better training would make all the difference. I'm happy to spend money, but not where I don't feel particularly appreciated.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rainbow Tours offers a variety of options, from snorkeling to SCUBA instruction/trips, bike/boat trips, and/or traversing the island. They're happy to customize a tour. Check out their website.

Location, right on beautiful Chaweng Beach, friendly staff, Rim Talay restaurant in beautiful location looking over the beach, well maintained gym.

During our stay they were setting up for the gala New Year's Eve dinner, so there were a couple of days of noise around the pool area which people didn't like - perhaps they could have given guests a drink voucher or similar for the inconvenience. Internet access cards are available from the front desk and not the business centre where you would expect to find them. Would be good to have a pool table or tennis table for older children.

Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is in a great location on beautiful Chaweng Beach. While it is close to the busy, nightlife and shopping areas of Chaweng, it is quiet around the hotel, but right on the water too. The food is good, staff are friendly and the gym is well run and maintained. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have all amenities you would expect. We would stay here again if we had the opportunity.

Restaurant Tip : Food is good in the hotel and not overpriced, but there are many good restaurants and bars, serving both local and foreign food along the beach front. The chaweng shopping area is busy, but the girlie bars are tucked away, so it is fine for families to be out and about.

General convenient location; beautiful sandy beach; wonderful buffet breakfast; nice bungalows; excellent pool facilities, helpful staff.

is pricey but value is there for those prepared to pay for it.

As indicated in the pros and cons above, we were very pleased with the courteous staff and the quality and cleanliness of the bungalows. The beachfront location is nice as is the closeness of the beach shops, restaurants, nightlife, etc. The included buffet breakfast was first rate. Would be perfect location for a romantic get-away or celebration. All necessary facilities are on site or very nearby walking distance. Overall highly recommended to those accustomed to staying in 4 star or higher hotels.

Hotel Feature Tip : Go to both swimming pools. One has great beachfront location with jacuzzi section and children's section while the other is in a garden setting with an enjoyable swim up bar.

good location. very green territory

close to airport, you hear airplanes noise.

Beautiful surrounding, lots of plants, very green. Good location, close to everything and at the same time quiet inside. Nice beach and pool area. Big choice of food at breakfast and breakfast is on the beach so you can enjoy the sea view while eating. Same with dinner. Only one minus is too close to airport, but you get used to planes noice quick.

Great Location. Beautiful Beach.

Inept and unfriendly staff.

Here is my two cents worth, Chaweng Regent scores 5 out 5 for its excellent location i.e. right smack in the heart of the Chaweng’s “happening” area be it shopping or night life and this is well complimented by a beautiful beach front but sad to say that is where the plus points end for this 4 1/2 stars rated hotel. My family and I, spent 4 days 3 nights here and I must say that the coffee house staff failed miserably in the "hospitality" category. They exude as much warmth as ice cubes. Another shortcoming of this hotel, is the ineptness of the front office staff, despite my wife having completed the required form for the complimentary newspaper (why is there a need for a guest to complete a form for the complimentary newspaper, I would never understand), we did not get it and I have to personally follow up with the front office for the paper. Imagine getting the morning newspaper in the evening and the next morning again there was no newspaper. If one can look beyond the ineptness and unenthusiastic staff, this is a good hotel based on its location and the beautiful beach front.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : For "value for money" and relaxing massages check out the Nida massage opposite Starbucks and Hi Class massage along the main Chaweng street.

Easy access to the bungalow, restaurant and beach area. Quiet environment as for escape.

Spa quality need to improve.

Good place to stay in Chaweng beach area, being located in the center main street. Good restarurant and services. Have 2 swimming pools in center of the resort. Recommend for family or couple on the place to getaway, it is pretty much cozy place to stay for a couple of days or longer. But the SPA (escape) need to improve for its services as Thai massage quality is not difference to the street service at 250 ba.

Restaurant Tip : Bono nearby provide a excellent price value on the seafood and local cusine.

Beachfront hotel

Food not that fanastic

I stayed in Chaweng Regent Beach Resort for 4 days in July 2008. It was wonderful. The rooms are just steps away from the beach, and the breakfast is served at an area overlooking the sea. During weekend, the hotel serves BBQ buffet on the beach, which was really cool. Definitely worth the money.
