Misleading pics...
Location, beach bar, staff from the beach bar
The photos were misleading. It is still affordable... But you'll be left with a sense of having overpayed. Altogether, you can better prices on the town for renting scooters for instance... So you don't feel "protected" as a costumer during your stay

Needs refurbishment
direct at the beach, pool, close to restaurants/ shops/ nightlife
I think its a family running hotel, not very professional. spacious but loveless or no internal design, hotel needs to be refurbished very urgent ....you can hear distance noise from the club "Fusion" until early in the morning (sunrise!)- sorry, cannot recommend this hotel! good was only the thai massage at the nice beach

Nice hotel but absent-minded staff
free sunbeds, pool, room
We were three girls travelling together. Overall we were pleased with the hotel. The pool was really nice and its locality was perfect. However the hotel would be even better if they had a restaurant with breakfast. On the negative side, we found the staff very absent-minded and when very poor at english. The receptionist made us feel very inconvenient when we asked for more towels or wifi code. Also everytime we took a shower the floor in the hallway would be soaked because the shower curtain wasn't long enough.

quiet hotel in great location
Huge rooms, beachside location and view
Private beachside location, close to bars and restaurants. Great rooms, more like an apartment than a hotel. No room service or in room telephone.

Changes at the Coconut
Location, Large Rooms, Beach access
Stayed many times, always enjoyed the access to the Last stand of palm trees on the beach at Lamai. One disappointment this year is that it looks like the hotel has leased about a 1/4 of their beachfront to a bar. Loud music playing all day, serving drinks to the public for a free beach bed. The lonely planet said that Lamai was more laid back than Chewang, unfortunately that is changing and the 5 row deep beach beds are fast moving along the beach. Depends what you want in a holiday, hard to relax or hear the lapping of the waves on the beach now. I would imagine this change will not be popular with the Coconuts regulars. PS there is no dining room, so no breakfast included. Agoda has got that wrong.
