I can't rate this resort highly enough. My now wife and I had our wedding in Koh Samui and we chose this venue because we liked the look of the pictures. We told all 35 of our guests where we were staying and they all booked at Dara Samui as well. On one side of the resort is the heart of Chaweng's shopping district, and on the other side is the beautiful pool and beach where we spent every day enjoying cocktails & having massages on the beach. The rooms were very nice and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely come back to Dara Samui next time we're in Koh Samui, I can't recommend it enough.

everything was fine with this hotel,but two negatives.1.dont make a phone call,line is very fussy and crackling ,but still had to pay for three attempts to ring over seas.2.the mosquitoes are very friendly when sitting on the balcony.

we were welcomed from a trainee..ask all question without taking a breath...quite annoying. All other staff are really friendly and nice.
housekeeping is a bit careless...i saw better jobs. F&B is fantastic.
annoying was that the thai staff didn't say anything to the loud, noisy and dirty chinese and israeli group...we( all other guests) did this....they smoked wheat at the pool, kids around and none of the staff said anything until other guests made a lot of trouble. the beach is not that nice...better take next time another hotel.....

For the money that you paid for the room is not worth. They were trying to charge more money for my son who below 12 that they announced that it is free if without extra bed. Pls be very careful for this!!! The confirmation paper that you get from agoda did not show. and later on they change to charge for breakfast.
Breakfast is quite boring very few foods to choose. The picture in the website is nice but the real is not as good as it is esp. at the pool. Cleaning room is not really clean. The room design is nice but not really functional. When i first time check in hotel i feel this is an immigration.

I had an outstanding stay here. The staff was very friendly. The pick up at the airport was very professional. I never plugged into the internet so I don't know how it was in the room. No wifi in the rooms. The swimming pool was just as pictured on the site and very relaxing. The drinks at the bar were perfect, the food was very good. I believe this hotel should be a 5-star resort. The price I paid on Agoda was well worth the money for what I got in return. I would stay here again if I make it back down to Samui.

Just one word to describe the check in staff, AWESOME!! We arrived terribly early due to flight, and not really expected an early check in but friendly Dara Samui allowed us to check in @ 11:00 am!! Also beautiful room and resort, the beach is very nice, location is great, right in the heart of Chaweng. Had a lovely time here,I would definitely come back when I visit Koh Samui again!!

We stayed at this resort in August 2011, enjoyed our stay so decided to come back. What a difference 18 months made, it has definitely gone into desrepair. We book a villa but really shouldnt have bothered, outdoor shower was pretty gross, bed was so squeaky and uncomfortable, couldnt even have a bath as its tiled in little mosaic squares which are uneven so cant lie down or sit in it. Most nights we were without power for a couple of hours. Breakfast was pretty dismal, no more al a carte menu, fruit was old, coffee even worse. Didnt even bother sunbathing as 30 sunloungers packed into 5m squared section of the beach is not relaxing, didnt even have the nice couches they used to have around the pool. Staff was definitely not as attentive and friendly as before. We were pretty shocked and upset, we had booked for two weeks stayed for 2 nights then went somewhere else then came back for one more night and checked out and found somewhere else to stay, didnt stay anything to us just that we would not be getting a refund.
