This is a good choice of hotel. Rooms are good size and balcony/terrace with day bed is great. Overall a nice resort with plenty of open space and direct sea view. Breakfast was good. For those that like new hotels and considering I travel a lot this is a nice hotel.Fishermans Village is next door with loads of dining options and a nice walking street. Only downside is the quality of the beach, there was a monsoon storm so beach was littered with rubbish which was being cleaned up but it is not the white sand beach of Chaweng which you can take a taxi to

A quite and relaxing stay
Good service. Near to beach. Near to fisherman village where you can find a lot of food.

Staff is friendly and the service is good. Room is spacious and sea facing.A walking distance to fisherman village where you can find a lot of foods and gifts.
Foods in the hotel is expensive. Have to be careful if you bring infant who start learning to walk as there are water features with drain in the hotel. There is also no lift in the hotel.

Wonderful beach side hotel, exceptional service

Excellent location to escape to crowds of Chaweng. Short stroll to fisherman's village with abundant choices for meals. Pool is amazing and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Mr Ung's Safari Tour was a great day safari tour company which took us around Samui's popular tourist attractions. A great day out.

Quaint Location with great amenities

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in the Ocean front room. The room was nice and lives up to resort quality. The staff at the resort was friendly and helpful. We ate dinner on the beach our final night and the food was spectacular. The chef is outstanding and I was pleasantly surprised. The resort also has it's own beach and a nice pool, great for relaxing and staying away from the masses. I highly recommend it for anybody who wants to relax and enjoy a nice resort feel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We rented a scooter for 300 THB ($10 US) a day and you can get to Chaweng in 5 minutes or circle the whole island in an hour. I would recommend this rather than paying for the overpriced tours etc. We took the scooter to the various waterfalls and viewpoints around the island.

Great modern facility but beach and service

Hansar Samui is a great modern resort with a great location. 10 minutes walk from Fisherman's Village where you have access to a host of restaraunts and bars.
Rooms are quite spacious and clean with an amazing outdoor patio area. Beds were a little soft and creaky for my taste.
Pool / deck area is pretty cool with an infinity pool and a great view of the beach.
Service was inconsistent, some of the staff were really friendly and warm. In particular the hostess at the H Bistro seems like she would only speak to / serve caucasians.
Probably should have done the research beforehand but the beach had relatively coarse sand and could be cleaned up. On occasion we had to navigate around dog poop and glass shards.
Restaurant Tip:
The Shack at fisherman's village is an unassuming restaraunt with actually reasonable food.

on our honeymoon, this place was amazing.
picked the seaview xl room which is the best type i would say. i had requested for airport pick up.they replied promptly and took my flight details. when we arrived, the pick up staff keng, was already there. in fact we had kept him waiting for almost an hour. however, when he saw us, he smiled and welcomed us warmly.
once we got into the vehicle, he presented us with cold towels and a bottle of chilled mineral water each. this was really nice.
when we got to the hotel, the staff welcomed us warmly even though it was late and brought us to our room. the room was amazing. i believe the best in the hotel. top floor, room right in the middle of the floor which gives the best view available. the bed had rose petals, a rose stalk and hershey's chocolates. the bath tub in the middle of the room also had rose petals in it.

The hotel has really nice staff, and beautiful architecture. The food, at the H Restaurant (think this was the name) was excellent. Even for breakftast buffet, there was some items to be made to order, e.g. pad thai, and you could order any or all of the choices. The omellete was so beautifully served I had to take a picture of it. The Beach Bar staff were so friendly and the cocktails strong and tasty.
I only had one quick dip in the extra large sized pool late at night (it wasn't cold at all), but it looked very inviting in the day too.
The old world tiles in the rooms and huge shower area are plusses as well. I don't have any quibbles with anything really. Well done and good luck to the hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
There are some really nice restaurants at the Fisherman's village, which is just 5 mins walk from the hotel. Quiet and much nicer than Chaweng.

Heavenly place to stay

We went for honey moon and I just didn't want to leave there. I satisfied everything they had for us. Very nice staffs, excellent food and excellent facilities (must try LUXSA spa). There were only 3-4 asian couples including us. Only thing I didn't feel comfortable was, there was one female Caucasian staff, and she only talked to other Caucasian guests. She never gave any words to us. That was only thing I didn't like. Except that it was just a heavenly experience.
