Very nice architeture, beautifull garden, very fine beach, a kind of paradise...
250 Baht per person to and from the airport 8km away. Should be a courtesy.
internet very expensive. be carefull... Should also be a courtesy
It´s a very fine Hotel. Very well placed, with a very nice garden, very good pools, close to the beach, very quiet, The sea is also very calm with good water temperature. The staff is very polished althougth a little bit away...the prices in the restaurants are to expensive compared with other offers nearby. That´s why they are almost empty. They have a lot of guests but didn´t do nothing to capture the interest of that guests to visit the restaurant and bar, like good prices.

Now I see why Imperial Smaui ranks first in Agoda Hotels list! Absolutely wonderful stay, staff (Kerson front office manager:Thank you for the best suite!also thanks to Ampa and Tarn). Amazing views, beautiful hotel architecture and gardens, very clean white powder sand beach, water slightly shallow but still no complain there!), near to Chewang town (ideal distance), very good breakfast, if into pools, theres sea water pool (on the beach) and fresh water pool, delicious fresh fruit in room (not oranges & apples)/ complimentary deserts from restaurant, very reasonable price for massages. Also very interesting spiritual books in the room. Its was precisely the sort relaxation, mind & life restructuring I needed. I was solo traveler (female) and the place was all honeymooners which I initially had my reservations about being on my own but the whole surrounding atmosphere was so good that I felt totally comfortable. It is truly ideal for all catogories if you are looking to relax but also be in touch with the outside (town and tourist attractions). Like many of its guests (some for 10 years). I went around various 5* spa resorts around the island this was my first resort upon arrival from the airport. I loved it I will be definitely going back to this hotel again and again!
Nothing regarding the hotel; there were a couple of incidents of public display unclassy behaviour from other guests but in general it was frowned upon by other guests and they tend to stop.
The hotel gives very good exchange rate (better than the local banks), try to avaiod getting currency exchange from the local exchange companies (you will get quite done!). Also the massage price list in this hotel is far better than the other resorts (as they go up by upwards of the 1000). The hotel provides an international adapter in the room... the wireless is little dear, other hotels have it complimentary for guests). the only annoying aspect it is literally covered with local traders on the beach (it is non stop!),they block the sun view standing over your head if you get a front sunbed, so take my advise and take the back ones, it will get to you after few hours! Also negotiate a price for taxis, buses car hire etc the scooters and bikes are quite good we actually pay far far more than the locals. Hotel collection from the airport is 250B, but there seems to be a local bus service (from the airport car park) to the hotel for 120B. If you get a boat to other islands go to Bann Chaweng travel & tour on main road, 250B for all in hotel collection and boat transfer to other islands. Also food and shopping is far better (quality and price) in fisherman village in BoPhut north of Samui (about 20mins car/bike from Chaweng) its a must visit! There are restaurant along the beach near the hotel, personally I didnt think they were good at all, and there were stealth figures added on the bill, you can get better dinners in town itself or for luch better having a light luch from the hotel, & if you prefer, some guests were bringing a bbq takeaway box to the beach from the hotel restaurant/bar which is located directly behind the sun beds on the beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Food and shopping is best in the north of samui in fishermans village, star fish & coffee is excellent, the best there for seafood and wonderful seaside setting. White powery clean (but shallow)beaches are best in Lamai and Chaweng noi beaches, also the south west of the island, the more north you are, the sand is darker and rougher and the water is darker and murkier but deeper which is swimmable), also more insects and ants (get your insect repellent otherwise you get covered with bite!). Negotiate and haggle! Stay well away from Ko Phangan, take my word its not for you if you are a professional or family, its the full moon/black moon etc parties. Ko Tao is for divers (you can do a full day trip from Koh Samui). The temples are beautiful, make sure you cover up (bring a pair of jeans its sufficient, also flipfops as you will have to take it off, socks are ok if you're into hygiene!). Also check your bill in restaurats and shops, the figures do change, be warned in particular with certain hotels and restaurants (shall remain nameless). All in all is the isalnd within Thailand, more or less guranteed to have a dry weather (better than phuket and karabion the west side of thailand, they get the typhoons, samui on the east doesnt.

Smoking everywhere. Garden view can be improved.
Shuttle bus is not convenient.
If you want to enjoy a beach vacation without too much interupting, here is a good place for you.
It has the same beautiful beach view and white sand and less people walk around all the time. Also your night will be more quiet since it's far from main street. The bad part is smoking is almost everywhere. From balcony to pool side we are being interrupt by smoking everyy 30 minutes or less. It's really frustated to smell smoking all the time when you are enjoying the view.

super beautiful decoration at the lobby, helpful staff and very nice swimming pool with amazing choice of breakfast
should have free wifi, seawater pool is very shallow and actually good for kids playing but not swimming
the hotel is all in a greek decoration, so nice seaview and beautiful decoration everywhere, feel so comfortable staying there. Staff are helpful and friendly, pool is nice and convinent, breakfast is fantastic with wide range of selection, fresh and no insect flying; definitely a must come again hotel. Also it's little bit remote but comparatively it's more quiet and visitors can enjoy more privacy, also tried the seafood buffet, it's delicious and great view too. Range is not much but good taste and value for money
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : can get some local tour just at the counter at the breakfast place, friendly staff and not expensive. Hotel is good enough for relaxation, i thk it's better to spend more time there than to the mainstreet. but every hour hv shuttle bus, just register with the receiption 100 (2way) for each person, i wd say still reasonable in samui (samui transportation is quite expensive)

Great beach, pool and rooms.
It is a lot of hiking up and down the stairs to get from room, lobby and beach/pool.
min. 50 words
My 20 year old daughter and i loved everything about the resort. The beach was clean and beautiful, the accessibiity to the beach was great, the cost was reasonable in all regards and the staff was very friendly. Our room and the grounds were much pretty. As Americans, we enjoyed the European guests too. The front desk was very helpful in helping us get to our early flight. The beach massages were a very good value too.
Restaurant Tip : Prego restaurant in town was great as was the italina buffet at the hotel.

Great looking surroundings and facilities / very friendly staff / very good breakfast!!
Some of the rooms i.e. our's was quite a bit of a walk to the hotel entrance. This is the price you pay for a great looking hotel though.
We booked this hotel two days before we arrived. Even though the price definetely reflected that of a five star - everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel surroundings give you a real good feeling your staying somewhere special because its quite secluded whilst still opening up onto chaweng beach. Hotel staff extremely friendly, great looking sea water pool, great facilities, very satisfied with the room.
Shopping Tip : There's a shop across the road from the hotel which you can take your laundary to for cheap.

Best features: the beach is great with a small lagoon kind of area which is perfect for young children to swim. The coast is shallow, less than two feet, so it is amazing to swim in and even though it was the rainy season, there were barely any waves.
Room: large, spacious with a dreamy bathroom.
Housekeeping: Imperial Samui is a true spa, all the shampoos, bath foams and lotions were an amazing peppermint fragranced, absolutely yummy.
Location: About 200 baht to go and 150 baht to come back from Chaweng Road.
We are a family of 5, two adults and three children. We booked two rooms and Imperial Samui for a five day vacation. The hotel was amazing and we could have easily spent five more days there. Even though the hotel is far from the main shopping/night-life district, yet due to the fact that it has an excellent beach and brilliant massage and spa services (both seperate, one by the sea water pool at the beach and the other at the Imperial Spa); lovely food at its restaurants; and breathtaking view from every room at the hotel, it truely was a high point in our entire 17 day trip, this 5 day stay at Imperial Samui. Though we got our rooms after 2 o'clock and not at 12 as we had expected, the staff was brilliant with us and our kids.
Hotel Feature Tip : Excellent excellent massage down by the beach. Spa services and the beach massage at Imperial Samui is excellent value for money and brilliant service. We both loved it!!!

The hotel is really lovely, the rooms were kept very clean and tidy and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The breakfast was excellent spoilt for choice catered for all. The food in the evening was excellent again, both a la carte and the buffet style meals were really tasty and off good quality.
Lovely beach and warm waters. I spent 10 days here and found it very peaceful and relaxing.
The last hotel pick up from town was at 10.15, being on my own would have been nice if later pick up of 12.15 was available so did not have to get cab on my own.
I spent 10 days in June 2009, had great weather during the day, rain most night but did not spoil anything. Would definately stay there again, the pool, the beach was great. The hotel was kept very clean and it had a very relaxing feel about it. It was nice to be just outside the main Chewang road, but you are only 5mins away by cab, could even walk in 10-15mins.
Shopping Tip : Great for hangbag and shoe shopping and great boutique restaurants to eat in. Recommend Great Sense and Rice.

Great private beach. Locals don't disturb you too much with their selling. Nice pools. Quiet and relaxing. Junior suite was excellent and comfortable. Town is not far away, we just got taxis everywhere and it was not expensive
None really, apart from their Spa was fully booked for the weekend so we went to the hotel next door but their spa was excellent so not really a compliant.

Service - excellent. There were some hiccups with our transport arrangement but their service recovery is fantastic. overall, very good customer service.
Design - very meditarranean resort feel. Fantastic view of the beach from the pool.
Room - clean & spacious bathroom. We're served with cakes every afternoon.
Breakfast - spread is just enough. all their pastries are so nice. and the view of the sea from the breakfast restaurant makes you feel like in paradise.
Location - must take a transport to Chaweng town. No places to go nearby the hotel. But not a major problem, because hotel have shuttle bus leaving to Chaweng / Tesco every hour at a very nominal charge.
Overall, very satisfied with the hotel for its mediterranean design, fantastic beach view right from our room balcony, and very clean & crystal blue beach. As the location is not as crowded as Chaweng, there's not so much touting on the beach. Very impressed with the customer service and thoughtfulness of the hotel. Will definitely consider staying there again on my next Samui trip.
Hotel Feature Tip : arrange your chaweng transport with the hotel. it's much cheaper than catching a taxi.

the air conditioning does not work if you are not in the room (but it's quick in getting the room cool once you enter). Far from Chaweng center.

Upon arrival, we were treated so well. We were taken into a lovely, air-conditioned room overlooking the sea while the staff checked us in. We were also given complimentary drinks as we waited. We had a sea-facing premier room which was a little small when you are using a baby cot, but we weren't in the room enough for it to matter. We had a large balcony that looked over the lovely landscaping of the hotel and the sea. The bathroom has two moving doors so you can open them up so the bathroom feels like a part of the main room or close them. The bathroom is huge with a separate shower and bathtub. We have a one year old and everyone gave him so much attention. Our maid went out of the way to bring him a little, soft blanket and two squeaky toys that he loved! We also got a wonderful platter of fruits once we got to the room. There are two swimming pools--a smaller one near the lobby which is fresh water, and a large one near the beach which is sea water. The pool by the beach is fantastic for kids because there are areas where it only a foot deep. But it is also a relaxing pool for adults. The pool is only about 30 feet from the ocean. You do have to claim a lounge chair early if you want a seat near the pool or beach. Breakfast was fabulous. There is a wonderful spread of different types of food and their evening buffets at the Tara Restaurant are great also. We really felt like this was the best hotel experience we have ever had. The beach is wonderful; it has soft, white sand and the water is clear. This side of Chaweng Beach isn't as crowded as the main area and isn't as dirty.
This hotel was great. It was the paradise break that we were looking for. We really enjoyed laying at the beach/pool all day and then going to a clean, beautiful room. The hotel is very beautifully landscaped and it really adds to this wonderful beach setting. The staff are very kind and willing to help you with anything. There is a travel agency next to the lobby so it is easy to arrange excursions or rent a motorbike. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel Feature Tip : You can rent a kayak for free from the staff who provide the towels at the lower pool.

-Friendly Staff
-Great Beach View from the restuarant
I had a nice stay, but it's not what I expected from a five star hotel. I almost let a misunderstanding ruin my trip, and I am surprised that the staff and the manager at a five star hotel risked having an unhappy hotel guest. I was charged over 300 bhat for one hour of internet use. That's around 10 US dollars. I misread the sign that said 50 bhat for the first 15 minutes and 5 bhat for every minute after. It makes no sense to charge a person more the longer they use the internet. The staff and the manager were not willing to bend or even to give me a discount. If you stay here, don't use the internet.
Make sure you wake up for the buffet breakfast.

Beautiful property, away from the center of Chawang. Great staff. Quiet with nice beach.
We did not want to be in the heart of Chawang and all the craziness. Imperial was at the south end of the beach more than a walk from the main strip (which was fine for us). It is a very beautiful property but built on the side of a hill so there is plenty of up and down stairs. The beach was clean and not crowded with massage for $7 just next to hotel. Nice breakfast buffet.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : For 200 baht (about $7) you can rent a motorbike and tour the island. Crazy drivers, but we felt very comfortable. Don't miss the elephant ride at Namuang Waterfall where you can find the elephant camp at Namuang Safari Park. The ride lasts app. 30 minutes and costs about 500-700 Baht.
