Bo Phut
On the north coast of Samui, Bo Phut has the island’s most authentic traditional community. As with all the vacation communities on Samui, it also has expansive white-sand beaches. Accommodation in Bo Phut features mainly mid-range hotels with a few posh, upmarket options.
Near the center of Bo Phut coastline, Fisherman Village is the most fascinating part of Bo Phut. It’s the island’s original community, home to well-preserved shop houses, former homes to Chinese merchants who migrated here. It’s been carefully reworked in recent years to add modern restaurants and hotels without detracting from its historic atmosphere. Guests of area hotels come here for dining and evening entertainment.
Aside from Fisherman Village, the biggest attraction is Bo Phut Beach itself. Whether lounging in a deck chair, hiring a yacht from Petcharat Marina or watching the sunset, this is a relaxing place for tourists to spend a day or two. Sunset dining is especially nice in this area. Closer to Choengmon, Samui Crocodile Farm is a popular side trip from the beach.
Accommodation in Bo Phut ranges from basic 2-star hotels to secluded bayside bungalows and luxury resorts. The finest are at the center of this stretch of coastline, where a small peninsula juts into the sea.
