Very helpful staff but rooms are a littel tired

your staff were wonderful, but the service provided was a bit slack. the room was not cleaned two of the days we were there and we had to ask for a kettle and we were the provided with coffee but not tea - we bought our own. the air conditioner dripped most of the nights.

Was happy about everything except the scam they tried on at the end of my stay, the old damaged motorbike one. I told them to get fuc#$$% in no uncertain terms, they threaten to call police, police never show up so a sterling victory for me

Beautiful hotel in an ok location

The hotel itself is great. Nice food, nice pool, lovely big and clean rooms. The location is a little out of the way. No direct beach access and beach in area is very rocky.
Choeng Mon and Chaweng are close on a bike or car - 5 mins either way.
Restaurant Tip:
Italian place in Choeng Mon is great - 2 Black sheep on the sign.

A hidden gem out of the way.

For a ten day stay in Koh Samui, we loved Maryoo Samui Hotel. Yes its far away from all the attractions, thats why we picked it. Its a short hope on a rot song taew (bhat taxi) and you are right in the thick of it all.
The hotel is in great condition, well decorated and each room is the perfect size for two people. The bathrooms where immaculate; clean and modern in their design, with fresh towels everyday. Which is part of why you should stay at Maryoo. They fully understand customer service. Fresh bedding and towels, pool towels where put out when we went for a swim, even at odd hours like 2 am. We felt like valued guests the whole time we where there.
The other reviews are right about the restaurant, there is nothing special about it. However just up the street a five minute walk is bongos restaurant which has some really good food at a very fair price. Next door is Banyan Tree Cafe, with one of the best sandwiches i've had in thailand. Not to mention the Rock Pool, where you most definitely want to book a table for dinner.
We will being going back .
Travel tip:
Ask for an ocean view room, they are the best and most private.

Average, Staff are thieves, dont let them scam you
I called the scams they tried a bluff and won

It was an okay room, the pool was green and the food nice but was'nt happy when they tried the 'damaged scooter wheel' scam on
Hotel Feature Tip:
Dont trust the staff, dont rent a scooter from them...they are not your friends.

Good value hotel nice design but need car moto

Nice room design and pool in a quiet evnvironment. I stayed there in July and only few rooms (on 50) were occupied so the feeling may not be the same during high season. You need a bike or car because nothing available on foot. WIFI connection did not work properly on the side I was staying

booked at a stay at the maryoo samui for 1 night as i was coming from koh phangnan and had to take a flight in the morning. the room was large and clean, pool was lovely and the staff were personable. only thing was that it was a bit far from it all (but only 10 mins from the airport!) so renting a motor bike was required to get to chaweng (this was all arranged by the hotel). would recommend this hotel for people who want a quiet area away from the party!
