nice clean room, 4 poster bed, very big bathroom, nice pool, good value.
Had a pleasant stay at the hotel, the room was large an very clean, with a four poster bed and nice bedding. Big clean bathroom.
Staff were a little unfriendly, but no less friendly than other Thais.
Hotel had a good sized clean pool, with jacuzzi area.
The hotel was a bit out of the way, but this was a good thing if you want peace and quiet, can easily rent bikes.

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, good bedding, quiet
No tea and coffee making facilities in room, hotel does not offer many facilities other than pool and restaurant.
Great rooms and very good value for money, however, this hotel is only really suitable for those with transport as its not very close to anything. Hiring a motorbike or car is cheap on Samui so not a big problem but just work it into your costs. Also the free breakfast is just toast, juice and tea or coffee so not very exciting, but overall if you want a quiet, relaxing break then I would recommend this hotel.
Travel tip : Shop around for a good price when hiring a motorbike - price varies, most around 200 baht but found good company offering 150 baht per day.

small hotel with good size swimming pool, very quiet, have free internet access in room
1. Staff needs more training on how to deal with problems and communicate with guests and need to be more consistent with service provided. 2. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. If you are a first timer to Samui, I recommend other more centrally located hotels to save you the money to travel in and out of tourist spots.
1. Reception didn't ask for my ID card upon check in 2. Had to move to another room during stay and was told to move to the room next door. At 9.30am next day, reception called and asked me to move (very unprofessional, you shouldn't tell guest to move until the normal check out time) but I was told the room next door is not available simply because the previous guests took the keys with them and the hotel doesn't have a spare key (In fact that room is still unoccupied to date). 3. Cleaning service is inconsistent. One day you get hand towels/ water, the other day you get nothing. One day they sweep the room, the other day they don't. 4. TV in room is very old model, There are 2 jacks to connect DVD player. Most DVD players has 3 jacks so when you try to connect the two, you end up having no sound. 5. Some rooms are infested with ants 6. Request an ironing board at one time and was told the hotel doesn't have any at all. 7. Furniture in and outside room made from wood but there are no cushions for chairs/bench. It's very uncomfortable to sit for a long time. 8. Ordered breakfast for room service at one time and had a hard time trying to communicate with restaurant staff (even though we were talking Thai to each other) as they misunderstood that I wanted to order a free breakfast outside the breakfast hours. I have to tell them clearly that I will pay for the food bill. When food arrived, I gave the girl a tip. She took the money and walked off- didn't even say Thanks.

Design, clean, polite & helpful staff.. great price for what you get...
Not by the beach but already knew that when I booked the resort...
Remember to let them know your flight details as airport transfer is free.. if not, can cost you as much as 400 Baht per person for a 10 minute ride for taxi...
Lots of restaurants and bars ten minutes walk to the main road... also a 7/11 to stock up on supplies. rent a bike to explore the island, around 200 baht a day. front desk can help.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : very helpful travel agent on main road, turn left, 200 meters... DVC Travel, in front of karma kamet resort... for safari and eco tours, etc.

Lovely bungalows, nice pool, friendly staff, decent restaurant with a lovely fish pond, in the bo phut area which is refreshingly quiet
Breakfast was very minimal, wee bit of a walk to the beach but worth it, staff couldn't book us onward travel to krabi
We arrived to a warm welcome by staff with excellent English and a free drink, our bungalow was a perfect size, huge bathroom! Very comfy bed and nice privacy level, the pool is decent size and clean, we had dinner at the restaurant which was a little pricey but nice, they do a greatcorn soup. The walk to the beach is about ten to fithteen minutes but the beach was a treat, no umbrellas, no tours, bliss! It's such good value we would definately stay again, 3 stars quality
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The staff told us there wasn't a travel agent near by and that it was a fourth minute drive to get one, not true, walk towards the beach, take a right at the junction and walk for two minutes, booked phew

Service, Facilities (What Spa?). Restaurant
In a nut shell, the resort is a 2* hotel that thinks it's a 3* hotel, so depending on what you pay; your perception of value may be different!
Price - We booked through agoda.com and got a pool facing double room for the right amount for this resort.
Rooms - The rooms are decently furnished but very poorly lit. Aircon, cable TV and 2 bottles of water included in the room price. There's 2 English channels - HBO & Discovery, an English music channel and a sports channel that fluctuates between English & Thai. The rooms could have been cleaner. Lots of cobwebs when we checked in (and 2 roaches!). There was also an ant infestation and we had to get them to clean the room 3 times before we were satisfied with it. The bathroom is pretty spacious with an electric shower.
Facilities - There is no spa and there is no fitness room, despite what their website and front board says. They also do not organise car/bike hire. The pool is actually pretty decent with a small jacuzzi. However not so peaceful when invaded by small kids. When the hotel gets busy there's not enough sun beds for everyone. Free Internet & WiFi that's really unreliable.
Service - Inconsistency is the main word here. You could get a fresh set of toiletries when your room's cleaned...you may not. You may get hand towels or pool towels; or you may not. The portion of chips you ordered today could be smaller than yesterday's. etc. Also there's no poolside service. You need to go to the restaurant/bar but you will be served at the pool. I'd be pretty cheesed off if I was paying the 1390 rate...The staff are pretty friendly and the reception/management are happy to organise tours for you; except they'll take ages to do it so if you want to guarantee a place book things yourself. We had asked them to book us on a Koh Tao trip with Lomphraya, but as they had procrastinated so much there were no spaces left.

Quiet, privacy, fairly nice accommodations, especially for the price. Free and fast wifi.
In the middle of nowhere, overpriced and limited means to get anywhere else.
It is hard to recommend the Maya Buri Resort. The facility itself is certainly nice enough, and is quite excellent for the price. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though not quite as nice as the pictures on the website would suggest. The free wifi was great!
The location, however, is really in the middle of nowhere. Neither close to the beach, shopping, or other restaurants, we really felt stranded there, and the resort is not nice enough to want to feel that way. Furthermore, the transportation options to get anywhere else were significantly more expensive than other options - even overpriced local taxis. Honestly, it is reason enough not to stay, unless you are really looking for absolute seclusion and privacy.
The restaurant was okay. Not bad, but not great, especially when it is a bit expensive and your only option.
Truthfully, there are places that are nicer, not much more expensive, and accessible to other things withing Chaweng and Lamai, and would probably be a better choice for most travelers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close to airport and Big Buddha, the free airport pick-up and drop-off were a plus.

Free WI FI in the rooms for your laptops
A great place to stay - we knew before we booked in that it was a short distance from the beach, so no problem. It is located in a very quite area of Samui so nice and relaxing. The pool was great and the rooms even better - check out the very large bathrooms - great. The staff where all very helpful and the general manager could not have been more accommodating. Great value for money.
Travel tip : WI FI for laptops in the rooms - GREAT...

Fantastic value for money
Brilliant customer service
Proactive and flexible to your needs
Close to beach and strip of bars
Close to ferry port to other islands
Cheap laundry across road
Breakfast in bed or drinks to room is at no extra charge
Nice pool
Chaweng beach is only 10 minutes by car/bike drive
If you are a light sleeper, Bar/Club nearby is noisy from 10-12pm.
5 minutes in a taxi from the airport and you arrive at the lovely Maya Buri. You receive a warm welcome from Glenn who is keen to attend to your every need.
All rooms are great with four poster beds and modern furnishings. The pool is modern, the staff are so friendly and accommodating, they make your stay a very pleasant one.
I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler who wants a few nights in Koh Samui with easy access to every thing.
Hotel Feature Tip : Pay a little extra and upgrade at least 2 nights to the presidential suite which is fantastic.
Plan your visit to coincide with the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangang.

quiet, friendly staff, clean rooms , good price, good food in restaurant.
more beds at the pool, staff could learn to speak better English (but the manager speaks it perfect).
we had a great time staying here , in fact we stayed 8 days longer than expected. many people say the down side is that it is not on the beach but it is a 5 minute walk to the beach (there for quiet )and if you rent a scooter (150 to 250 bath) you are on the beach in 1 minute!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : rent a scooter and explore by yourself (trip around the island takes about 4 hours).

clean, friendly, good value for money.
a bit far from chaweng but after finding shortcuts takes 5 min on bike. breakfast a bit basic.
excellent hotel and great value for money. we booked 4 nights with agoda and at the hotel extended for extra week for a cheaper room which is only available once you actually go there. hotel has got a studio which in my opinion is better then standard room plus a budget room. booking walking in rates seems to be cheaper then the internet. the staff is very helpful and friendly. management is not Thai. I am very happy with this hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : very nice rooms.

Staff were very friendly. Rooms were nice. Free pickup from the hotel.
We stay at the Maya Buri Boutique Resort & Spa for one day, to re-route our schedule to Phuket due to the political protester outbreak at the Bangkok Airport. It was great that there was free airport pickup to and from. We were greeted with the Manager (or Owner) of the hotel. They served us iced tea upon our arrival and made us feel like home. The staff were really friendly! Too bad we only stay for one day. I think it's pretty far from the beach but very close to the airport.

really a great place to stay
maybe a bit far from chaweng beach
I really enjoyed staying at Maya Buri resort. My room was really big and so beautiful..our bathroom was bigger than the whole room. Just you need a motorbike to move all around...but you can rent it directly at the hotel.
They were really nice people and helped us all the time
