we liked the garden the pool &the beach

the restaurant not convenient .no aircon/food very little & very poor/should be buffet/sela is hot and and not comfortable/

we stayed five nights at the muaang ku lay pan in june 2009.two peaple for buisness & pleasure.the hotel is 4 stars hotel.& the price is accordingly.even the service is very good i do not recommend this hotel for families with children neither for travellers used to hotels with facilities like restaurants ,buffet breakfast, spa ,lobby & entertainment.it is not suitable for buisness man beacause their is no chair or table or any fourniture at all in the room . no loby fo meetings as well. it is good if you want to escape for a quite & different kind of accomodation. far away from every thing around you.prices at the restaurant & bar are very high with comparison to other places.we can say that next time we will look for another hotel , while staying at samui which is a wonderfull island.

Restaurant Tip : a choice of restorants nearby and can be rached by foot'a famili mart ,seven 11,atm,& hospital

location is ok

Very unorganised hotel the staff were rude. Ground were very poorly looked after. We changed rooms 3 times because of how dirty they were.

This is the first review we have done as all the places we have stayed at we were happy with and didnt feel we needed to comment on what they could do better but this is a Very unorganised hotel the staff were rude. Ground were very poorly looked after. We changed rooms 3 times because of how dirty they were. We checked out a night early we were so unimpressed with the place. Food was very average. and the place looked like it had been abandoned.

- good service - nice design - good location - nice breakfast served on the beach

- style bit oudated - restiled room much more expensive

Our family of four, including two kids of 2 years and 4 months, stayed at the hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. The staff is nice and helpful and the rooms are fine, although the style is a bit outdated and they would need some refreshing. Aircons can be a bit noisy and too cold. A nice breakfast is served on the beach and the restaurant has excellent Thai food, although it is a bit expensive. All in all, given also the excellent location right on a beautiful beach, it was a good choice and we would consider going back if we will go to Koh Samui again.

Shopping Tip : shops and restaurants along chaweng beach are many and can be reached walking from the hotel

the rooms are nice. staff keep the place nice and clean.very helpful.

rooms could do with an upgrade ie no coofee or tea making.swimming pool could do with a good clean ie new tiles to replace broken ones. would like to to see the fittness center upgraded very poor. as a personal sports teacher, this is a break but i still like to work out every day souds crazy i cant sit down to long

i have stayed here before 2 years ogo it was under different management then. i aways enjoy myself at this hotel. it was a first for my girlfriend she love it.

Travel tip : if you are like me, the hotel being at the end of chaweng beach is great because you can jog the full lenth of the beac and be back to cool off at youre swimming pool, i know what you are thinking fitness nuts that would be true.

The gardens, pool and intimacy of the hotel.

Hardly anything. Possibly just a little far from central Chaweng Beach.

A small charming and unbelievably friendly authentic Thai hotel. The breakfast cabanas are to die for as you are 20 metres from the sea, yet set in a lovely garden setting. If you want to be picky, the fried breakfast was never particularly hot. Undoubtedly a wonderfully romantic hotel for couples. We had 10 wonderful days.

Nightlife Tip : The 2 ladyboy shows in Chaweng town were great fun and were set in nice bars. I hired motorbike as I have done all around Asia but without doubt Koh Samui has the worst and most dangerous roads.

Location on Samui Beach, with the longest beach frontage in North Chaweng Beach, next door to the Amari, across the street from Samui International Hospital, and close to shopping and restaurants without all the noise of Central Chaweng, or the crowds. Samui is just beautiful

The concept of the hotel is wonderful, as is the layout with a large grassy area between 2 wings, and the beach, but the hotel is 18 years old, and needs updating. The ocean view is an indirect one, from the lanai, even with the Deluxe Rooms.

Great location for us, and walkable to restaurants and shopping, with 2 great hotel restaurants next door. The pool is large, beautiful, and usable. The beach is magnificent, with lounge chairs on the sand, all shaded by trees, and a full bar. The rooms are nicely appointed, but do need updating. The concept of a Zen like atmosphere is correct, but comfort issues in the room should be addressed. Overall a wonderful stay, and a great staff. Breakfast is cooked to order, with seating in small open grass cabanas, laying on futons! Restaurant seating also available.

Restaurant Tip : Prego at the Amari is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The new hotel next door has a beautiful beach front restaurant with an International menu, and some of the best Thai food we have ever eaten.

Great architecture, wonderful pool and garden, great beach, quiet, easy going

The structure needs now and then some little renovations

The Muang Kulaypan is situated on a quite, beautiful bay of crowded Chaweng Beach, but not too far from the city center, as you can walk there along the beach with all its different restaurants and bars. The mixture of ZEN style and modern facilities makes it a great place to just “be” and hang out. We were planning to stay just for a week.... and remained four…

Restaurant Tip : The little restaurants on the beach nearby are great if you wake up too late for breakfast

An eclectic mix of modern & old architecture. Private beach & great pool.

Breakfast served cold. Imagine eating cold eggs, bacon & sausages!

Will certainly consider coming back.

Hotel Feature Tip : Glad we did not book the Amari next door. This hotel was more value for our money.

Very comfortable rooms set in grounds with lots of open space. Close to restaurants and night life, but not too noisy.

Many rooms lack much privacy. Internet access is spotty and expensive.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting the rooms to be a bit tired and worn, but everything was well maintained. The room was very comfortable, with a good sized bed, balcony and wireless internet.

Muang Kulaypan is a quiet place for one to unwind. Friendly services, prompt & diligent hotel staffs they have. Not far from shopping & food area. Spacious room.

None

Muang Kulaypan is a quiet place for one to unwind. Friendly services, prompt & diligent hotel staffs they have. Not far from shopping & food area. Spacious, clean & neat room. Their smallest room in the list is actually quite big already compared to other hotels. One that seek for haps environment might not prefer Muang as this hotel really offers only serenity for one to unwind and enjoy nature & its surrounding.

Extremely stylish, very friendly staff and service, great breakfast, well furnished and is in an excellent location.

Not enough for the price paid in comparision to other accomodation in Samui, and the room started to smell of sewerage which is was the biggest problem.

located at the northern end of chaweng, it was secluded but easily accessible to chaweng town, about 1 km away

well the water heater did berak down on the 2nd night but a call to the friendly staff and this was quickly fixed

kudos to a staff called keam, she was ever so helpful, helping arrange a jeep rental at a vey reasonable 800 baht a day, taxi transfer to the airport and places to visit.

Restaurant Tip : right at the southern end of chaweng, try a restuarant called Ninja Crepes - great thai food at great prices

Quiet and a perfect oasis.

They have to do something with the breakfast. It is a little bit boring.

It has been nearly ten years since I have come to the Muang Kulay Pan. I love the charme, the calm and the very private location in very busy Chaweng. For me it is the perfect oasis in this loud surrounding. I hope, they do not change too much, and that I keep my good impression!!!
