Heavenly Cuisine at Prasuthon Restaurant
The past few decades have seen Thai food become recognised as one of the world’s great cuisines and at Nora Beach Resort you’ll see why. Nora’s main restaurant specialises in Royal Thai dishes using ancient recipes that have been enjoyed by the upper echelons of Thai society for generations. There are also a wide variety of western dishes and fusion food on the menu. Nora’s director of Food and Beverage Khun Nattawat has worked in five-star resorts around the region and prides himself on exceeding the culinary expectations of all guests. He insists on using only the freshest of ingredients and many of the resort’s herbs and vegetables are grown in the lush surrounding gardens.

The Lobby Bar
If you are not yet ready for bed after your meal, the lobby bar is the perfect place for a nightcap. Here, classical Thai music mingles with the sounds of nature from the surrounding gardens and makes for a relaxing end to the day.

Pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds available and constant service. The setting was gorgeous and like having your own private beach however a little walk around the corner revealed a much nicer beach to enjoy. Breakfast was of a good variety and plentiful. Courtesy collection bus was also a nice touch.

Reception is literally a mosquito breeding ground. No visual preventions so every time you risked passing through without repelent you would inevitably be eaten alive! Air conditioning in the room was quite weak.

Stayed at the Nora Beach for 10 days in June 2009. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and received nothing but courtesy from the staff. Good location, away from the noise of Chaweng but just within walking distance and even better was the bus in and out of town- free at certain times of the day, 50 bht per person to go in at the peak times (evenings). Improvements could be made in both the reception area- lots of mosquitos and with the air conditioning in the rooms. Granted we were there in the hot season but we had to leave it on permanently to even notice it. Really good eateries within walking distance of the hotel at a much more reasonable price than the hotel but for snacks and drinks you cannot fault the Nora Beach. I would say that the photos on the website are slightly old as the room we stayed in seemed dated.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Anthong National Marine Park is definitely worth a visit (via sppedboat) and can be booked both through the hotel or for 200 bht less in Chaweng. We also hired a jeep to tour the Island and visited Nikki Beach on the West Coast which was a gorgeous alternative to being at the same pool every day.

Friendly Staff, Beautiful location - very quite & private beach

Room could have used a little freshen up - coat of paint

Absolute lovely hotel. Friendly staff, great location. We stayed here for 4 nights in early June in an ocean front pool villa. Very highly recommended. It was our wedding anniversary and my husband, with the help of staff, surprised me with a beautiful cake and bunch of roses. The staff will go out of their way to ensure you have the best time possible.

Shopping Tip : Very close to the main shopping strip, with a bus drop off and pick up provided by the hotel at no cost at certain times of the day.

Traditional Thai style. Magnificent staff. Convenient to Chaweng, and tours.

Walking up the big hill to my villa after breakfast.

This was my 2nd visit to Nora Beach in 6 months. My daughter was married there, in the most professionally stage managed wedding that I have ever attended. It is an idyllic spot to get away from the world, venturing out only to undertake shopping raids on the shops and market stalls of Chaweng Beach, or, to go ride an elephant or ATV.

Restaurant Tip : Beach side at NoraBuri next door for an extra special private dinner date with your loved one is a must.
