Basic hotel with lovely garden and good beach

No room service after around 5:30. Breakfast starts late...I think 8:00? We had to leave the hotel early both mornings when we were there and we didn't get to eat breakfast... You need to tell them in advance to prepare. Room is very basic but adequate. No telephone etc. Good for families or friends staying for a long time because of its low price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Need to walk out the hotel and walk north to see the sunset bc it's blocked by a hill in the cove.

Promtsuk Buri Hotel is a small bungalow resort located on Silver beach. You really need a scooter to get to restaurants etc, since there are very few restaurants nearby and no dinner is served at the resort.
The standard of the bungalows was good and the beach is nice, but the water was a bit dirty at times.
The family who owns and runs the resort is really friendly and helpful.

Quiet location on the beaten track

I really liked the place. You see so many hotels along the beach road and when you arrive at the entrance you don't know what to expect. However, once passed the reception, you suddenly find yourself in a forest with bungalows, tress and plants, all wonderfully maintained and artistically arranged. Then you know you have arrived on holiday.
Due to the proximity to the beach, the fine sand, the clean and shallow water, as well as for the quietude one finds in this place, this is a wonderful place to stay on the "Sweet Island", especially with children.
The next time I visit Samui I will return here.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Rent a car at the hotel or one of the nearby places (there is also one at the opposite street side). It is easy to visit the island with your own vehicle also sparing you the hassle to negotiating the price for the Songthaews.
There are many sights on the south side of the island though nothing is really far.
And you can always go for dinner to a bit more distant place, especially with kids.

Very quiet and tranqil stay

Just returned from a wonderful week in Promtsuk Buri, where I had the most chilled out week imaginable.
I had a sea view bungalow, with open shower and found the room to be spotlessly clean and all the services working. Each bungalow comes with a small decking area with a couple of chairs which was lovely to sit out on during the day, with the beach just outside your door.
The breakfast was ok, plenty of food and good service and the food menu choice during the day was lovely - recommend any of the curries!
Absolutely nothing nearby, except a Family Mart and a few local restaurants but Chaweng and Lamai are a cheap cab trip away if you want more life.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Bophut Fishermans Village is a must see on a Friday night

Lovely beach, nice room, okay service

We enjoyed our stay here and thought it was a wonderful holiday, bar some slight issues.
The room was well-appointed and had a great semi-open bathroom. It was a pretty cool experience. The bed was very comfy. There was an issue with insects, however -- be prepared for mosquitoes, ants, and the occasional roach or two. Only throw things away in the trash can on the deck, unless you want an army of ants all over the room. (We left a glass with a couple drops of Coke on the end table and an hour later it was full of drowning ants.) Mosquitoes will eat you alive during the night, no matter how vigilant you are about keeping the doors closed.
Breakfast was adequate and quite good, with a list of options that you could choose from and order as much as you liked. We only had food at the resort restaurant once (outside of breakfast, that is) -- and once was enough for me to know that I didn't want to waste my money on it. They put ketchup in my pad thai, for crying out loud (enough to turn my noodles an orange-red and make it taste terrible).
The beach is fantastic, with white powdery sand and gentle waves. Take care though, a lot of areas are rocky beneath the surface. This made my buying water shoes a spectacular investment, as they protected our feet from all sorts of scrapes and bruises, and we were able to walk into the water and play without any worries of stepping on some sharp stone.
Service was okay, if a little iffy. When we first arrived, my partner and I dragged our two large suitcases and our two carry-on bags through the rock-filled parking area and up a couple steps to the reception area -- all the while, there were two staff members sitting inside the air-conditioned room, just staring at us and watching us struggle with our luggage. Some help would have been nice, eh? That was definitely not a great way to welcome us.
Restaurant Tip:
The silliest thing is how the resort's restaurant closes at 5pm, while every other restaurant in the area closes at 10-11pm. No matter though. There is a restaurant that is RIGHT next to the Promtsuk Buri restaurant that is a great place to have dinner (it's to your right when facing the beach). Try the pad si ew, the cheeseburgers, and the calamari (YUM!) -- do NOT try the pasta, or you'll regret it (it was horrible).

Very lovely hotel. Friendly staff and very good food. It is about 30 mins from the airport with minibus and it is located right on the beach of a beautiful small bay. there are hardly any boats to disturb you, I heard 2 passing during one week. There are some rocks and corals in the water which makes it interesting. The staff was amazingly helpful, even improvised a cooking class for us. I would definitely come back.
Restaurant Tip:
Even if you don't stay, have a lunch (they are not open for dinner) here. Cheap, but lovely.

Beautiful Beach and Great Customer Service

We were a little concerned upon arriving at the Promtsuk Buri Hotel because it was not close to the nightlife or the main beach. However, we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is located on a BEAUTIFUL private beach and the bungalows are comfy and clean. The staff helped sort us out with a motorbike and ferry transfers to Koh Phangnan. We really enjoyed our stay overall.

we stayed at promtsuk buri resort in august 2012 and had a very good time there. the resort is well kept, the rooms are very clean and the restaurant serves a great breakfast and lunch. the staff is frindly and helpful. the beach is beautiful and you can even swimm at low tide. the only thing i did not like were the huge amount of day tourists coming from other beaches, blocking all shady places on the beach and leaving their rubbish.
