I can recommend that the guest use songthaew instead of hotel's tansfer. The fare is half of hotel's transfers.

The pool area leads down onto a private beach which are both very relaxing areas to laze the day away.
- Restaurant Tip : The best Thai cheap food I found in Lamai was at the Rock Pub in the main shopping strip, about A$3 for a curry and rice.

The location of the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Lamai (although we never actually did it), there are some shops and restaurants outside the hotel so you are not isolated. The sea was actually quite rough (all the time) so I would not recommend swimming.
