Good staff service helped a lot

I've stayed here several times now. I like: the breakfast is pretty good, the pool is great for swimming and relaxing, the resort is very close to the pretty southern section of Chaweng Beach.
Also one thing that improved - the deluxe rooms now have free wifi. The hotel staff will tell you that you have to pay for wifi in the rooms (only free in lobby area), but it's not true, my wi-fi receiver picked up the signal, no worries.
During our stay, ir rained and rained and rained. The airport was clsoed for flooding for 3 days. The reception staff wer great - they allowed us late check outs, free use of the phone to call the airlines and make our rebookings etc. Very helpful in a stressful situation.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a small motorbike for THB 150 per day and explore the island. The traffic police don't hassle you here like they do in Phuket.

This was a Fantastic hotel with great staff that were always
helpfull. The room that we had was large and well appointed and was just a few steps away from the beach. We enjoyed many walks on the beach which was extremely clean. Will stay at this hotel again when we next go to Koh Samui.

Quiet location near beach, away from noise & crowd

It's a bit of a walk to the center of town, which you would have to get to in order to get decent food or enjoy night-life but not much a problem generally unless you want to shop a lot. In any case, a tuk-tuk or taxi can get you there quite easily and quickly, and those come by frequently. The beach is right next to the hotel, so this is a great location for a purely relaxing vacation. The hotel is very near the airport so there's no wasteful travel-time. Similarly, the popular clubbing spots aren't far away either, for a fun night out.

Not worth it to eat at the restaurant...way overpriced, best to go out and find much cheaper food. Also, taxi transfer service was overpriced as well. Very easy to tranfer on your own.
Restaurant Tip:
Great restaurants 10mins walk from the hotel.

Nice hotel, good clean pool, friendly staff, nice clean room with good bathroom, tea and coffee in the room, quiet area at the end of chaweng beach.
We were given a room upgrade which was nice but the room was on the 3rd floor without a lift and in a building across the road from where the pool was. Small inconvenience and overall good value.

Nice hotel and helpfull staff.

First House hotel was very welcoming and very good for what I paid. Large double room for £19 per night. Hotel was near the beach but by day the pool was perfect. Hotel has on site minimart and an internet cafe. The hotel appears to be at the far end of Chaweng so going out for a few drinks involves a long walk or a taxi. Great english breakfast if turning left coming out of the hotel about 50 yards.

had another great stay...its our third stay at this great hotel. havent got a bad word to say about it, rooms are great, rates are superb on agoda...always book through agoda even if you are extending your stay as its cheaper then doing so with the hotel itself...hotel dont mind you doing this either which is great!
Restaurant Tip:
the irish bar in chaweng...tropical murphys...does superb home style food!
