cheap, near the sea, very good bike rental office

service was not as I expected from Thai hotel

In general I needed the hotel only for sleep. I haven't been to the beach of the hotel. But I heard that the beach is good. If you rent a bike, everything becomes close. I didn't like the room which was dirty and old. There's no hair dryer. Next time i will stay in another hotel.

Nightlife Tip : Ot is not far from Chaweng center.

Good services provided

Location about 20 minutes walk to the centre of Chaweng.

Location about 20 minutes walk to the centre of Chaweng. A private beach separated from the Chaweng main beach. Beach can be crowded on high season. Good hotel when you compere to the cheap room rate. Could stay again if going to Samui. Hotel athmosphere was good and there was a nice swimming pool. All needed services are close by the hotel and it's area.

Hotel Feature Tip : Good hotel with affordable rate.

The LOcation is very good, Behaviour of staff is excellent, the food is good

I did not see any weakness of drawbacks in this hotel

The next time i visit Koh Samui my stay will be in Samui First House Hotel for sure. I will recommend this hotel to all my firends and relatives who are planning to visit Samui. The Location is excellent and the private beach is very good and very clean. The food is very good. And the most important factor is the behavious of the staff, they are so good and they make you feel like a king. Well done Samui First house, this will be my house in Samui during my future visits and thanks to Agoda for suggesting this hotel to me.

Hotel Feature Tip : A very good and clean beach

near beach

internet never worked too far from main bars etc

rooms were ok but looked a bit dated. Internet was supposed to be free but room we had it never worked. view was of opposite building so not good. for the price it wasnt good really and location was too far from bars and restrunts. motorbike taxis were a rip of trying to charge 160 baht.

Hotel Feature Tip : dont use motorbike taxi outside hotel use mini bus much cheaper or walk if a cool night.

QUIET PART OF CHAMAI BEACH

A LONG WALK TO THE CENTRE OF TOWN

The rooms were a good size and okay. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The staff weren't real friendly. The pool was nice and had access to a nice quiet beach. It was a long walk to the restaurants and shops at the centre of town. The wi fi internet was poor if you were using a laptop in your room.

Great swimming pool Deluxe rooms nicely positioned overlooking pool

Penny-pinching ethos of hotel

One nice thing about this hotel is that its located on edge of Chaweng and close to beach, so you can walk into Chaweng (15-20 mins walk). The hotel has a great pool - good for swimming laps and deluxe rooms situated along both sides of the pool. Breakfast buffet is the usual mid-price Thai hotel spread - meat and eggs, basic cereals, fresh fruit and toast. If you're veggie or vegan, they'll cook special hot food for you. But do tell them what you want to order otherwise they'll assume you like boring veg fried rice everyday! Downside of hotel is their very Thai obsession with trying to make money out of guests at every opportunity. So, although they have wifi in the rooms (deluxe rooms only), they charge B 500 for 7 hours, so that's an extra load on top of the already significant room price - maybe better to stay at a place that has free wifi. Then they don't have inroom tea/coffee - they want you to buy downstairs from the restaurant. They also charge an astronomical B 400 to go the 5 km to the airport (transfer) - outrageous charge by Thai standards. These seem to be good reasons not to go back there, but to try somewhere else next time - a rather shortsighted policy of the hotel.

Restaurant Tip : There is a great vegetarian Thai restaurant on the main ring road behind Chaweng that runs around the island. It's called Imboon and is close to Ayutaya Bank and Dive Supply in Chaweng. Rent a motobike per day to avoid the rip-off taxi drivers.

Friendly staff - breakfast satisfactory.

Hard to get to the beach for access. Far south end of beach.

Baggage handling was fine. Motor bike hire at the corner garage was negiotable eg. B130 a day for five days was OK. Shops very close and handy. Pool area was pleasant. Would stay again, as it is far from the noisy area of Chaweng. Many food shops in the area also with all kinds of food.

Nightlife Tip : Night life far away - but taxi -tuktuk is fairly cheap - except at late night, when prices rocket!

Marvellous beach, nice swimming pool.

Small area.

I stayed in a standard room with no b/f included for 7 days. The overall stay was nice since I spent most of the time outside. I'm never after luxury hotels on holiday since they are only for spending nights. The rest of the time I dedicate to outings. The swimming pool is not big but very comfortable with nice blooming trees around it.

Quiet location, which depending on what you want might be good or bad. Access to Chaweng Noi via a nice little bridge, the end of main Chaweng beach hasn’t got much going on but its nice. Friendly staff.

Location might be good or bad depending on what you want. Go for the better rooms, odd layout and no view on the cheaper ones. They back onto another building.

Quiet location, which depending on what you want might be good or bad. Access to Chaweng Noi via a nice little bridge, the end of main Chaweng beach hasn’t got much going on but its nice. Friendly staff at the hotel , always very helpful. The breakfast wasn't bad at all as long as you don't want an "Asian" breakfast. The omelettes were very nice. The hotel is a bit tired in places but is always clean. We had a leak in our room during a major downpour and they moved us straight away into one of the better blocks, although I offered they insisted on taking our bags.

Restaurant Tip : For fantastic Thai food walk away from Chaweng and you will find a small place called Art @ Samui. Fantastic and authentic, the owner even gave us some lessons!!

None

no window, breakfast, can't control air conditioning

I thought the "superior room" would be better, but there's no window in the bedroom. Atfer the bathrrom there is a small balcony facing very close walls and the other apartments. It has no use.

Location was great as the beach was beautiful but not as busy as the main part of Chaweng. The walk is not far from the main area and there are good shops/scenery (depending which way you walk) along the way. Service was adequate and the restaurant had something for everyone. The pool was lovely and the attached facilities such as net cafe`, travel agency, convenience store, bike and scuba hire were a big plus. The hotel has a real 'island paradise feel' and it looks a lot better in person than in photos on the relevant websites. The beds were comfortable.

Although the restaurant food was decent, the portions were small and didn't fill you up. This seems to be the case in a lot of Samui restaurants though. The rooms appeared 'sterile' in a way and not 'homie'. A kitchenette or even a kettle or microwave would help. The fact that the hotel gym was at extra expense was also disappointing because this was not mentioned in advertising. Most other hotels that we looked at with gym facilities included usage in the stay price. The pool closes at 8pm which is very early.

Nice looking hotel, good location for those wanting a romantic getaway or just in search of privacy, big pool, many attached facilities, adequate service, added costs for gym/internet usage a negative but overall great value for money.

Restaurant Tip : "Paradise" restaurant/resort is only a minute or two's walk along the beach from the hotel. Set up is on the sand or just adjacent to it (depending on weather), the food is excellent/well presented and the staff were lovely. With palm trees almost falling on you as you eat and the location next to the fountain/pool giving a very romantic feel. We had our last dinner on the island here and would recommend it as a must to anyone staying in the immediate area.

Friendly staff

A 40 minute walk to main strip rooms small

When we booked this hotel we were aware that it was a 10 minute walk out of town. You can reach some things within about 15 minutes but expect to walk 40 minutes to the main strip. We wouldn't have minded this but a section of this was unlit with no pavements. We were also warned at reception that there were a gang of robbers operating at the end of the road!. Needless to say we only stayed one night! Admitedly the room was a little small, but had it have been in a better location we would have stayed but didn't feel safe.

Travel tip : The tuck tuck drivers will try and rip you off on the way back. Don't pay more than 200bht. Also you can only access the safety deposit boxes which are in reception up until 11pm
