Outstanding service. They will organize and make anything happen. Great views. Quiet and relaxing. Working really hard to keep Chaweng accessible. If you want to be right in the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, then this is not the place. My wife and I stayed at the Sandalwood Villas for 3 nights. We have stayed mostly at guest houses in China and Chiang Mai, and a 5-star in Singapore. We don't have the experience to compare Sandalwood with other resorts on Samui. I can say this...absolutely outstanding service, great private villas, and although out of the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, they are working hard to keep the beach easily accessible.
The rooms, bed, shower, were all really nice. Each villa is private. You won't see anyone else.
One stop at reception and our 1-day boat dive trip was set up...then they offered to make sandwiches for the us on the early boat trip. Car rental easily set up and ready the next day. Day of early morning departure to the airport and they made sandwiches again. We drove the island and got detailed help and places to see.
Restaurant Tip : The Sandalwood staff pointed us to open air restaurants on the south coast, past Lamai. These are right on the beach side of town, steps from the water. We ate at the first one in town...absolutely great fresh seafood! We had a barbecue fish, barbecue squid, and a curry dish.

Location, view, friendly staff, and price. Laundry price was pretty expensive. We started off our honeymoon in Koh Samui at Sandalwood based off of the great reviews. It is a small resort (8 villas I think) but the benefit is the quality of service. The staff goes out of their way to help you in any way they can. The location is great because you are away and above all the touristy stuff at Chaweng Beach, yet you are just a short cab ride away. The pool is amazing, room service is cheap, and of course, the view above overlooking the bay is priceless.
Travel tip : Tips - eat at the restaurant one night, but venture down using their taxi/car service to check out some other 4 star hotel restaurants nearby. Laundry - that's expensive so it might be better to drop it off somewhere local w/ a 24 hour turnaround.

Beautifull room, great service, clean pool etc very nice Plumbing a bit smelly in the afternoon, but the satff always burn nice essential oils to mask so not to bad. 15 min from Chaweng, so costly in the resort car $800 bht return, you can hire a car onsite which is handy but about $60 AUD a day. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Imperial resort - Tara restaraunt top deck for dining is supurb
