beautiful pools, and cute beach. Nice rooms. Shuttle bus into Chaweng was good. Spa facilities were great, great value and very relaxing.
No music by the pool, no atmosphere. Food in the restaurant either was 100% or 20% never found it to be consistent. Cocktails weren't very good.
we stayed in the wet season and had a lovely relaxing stay, well priced though it is a good 25mins from chaweng. But saying that its good to have the quiet relaxing day and then the busy nights in chaweng. The smaller rooms were too small so we had to upgrade and pay more for a bigger room. Overall i would stay again, i understand its a new resort and atmosphere will come, but they need some nice music by the pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do a safari Tour, you see everything you need to in one day, and the rest of your stay can be spent relaxing by the beach or pool.

excellent quality/price ratio
a little bit far from the the main city Cha Weng
the place is wonderful, isolated from the other resorts and, as a consequence very peaceful. The beach is great and with a great deal of beautiful coral stones all around. The price you pay is quite cheap in comparison with the quality of service. The whole structure is brand new and very well kept. You need a taxy to go anywhere from there, and it takes sometime Cha Weng city area or the airport. Good for a peaceful and romantic stay.

-very clean
-nice swimmingpool
-the beach is beautifull and right next to the resort
-very friendly employees
-breakfast is ok (but simple)
-its on the silent side of the island (half an hour on motorbike to chaweng)
-motorbike/car for rent is necessary
-the water is not so deep (for some good for some bad)
-the shower(head) was not so good
It has been a nice stay at The Passage last august. We have been there for 5 nights and we enjoyed it. The rooms have airco so it's never too hot. In my opinion the airco is a little bit too strong for the size of the room but I can't complain. There is a nice lcdtv with enough channels to watch (not that watching tv is something that you do a lot on such a beautiful island). The beds ar fine to sleep on. The rooms are very clean and the maids are doing a good job. The employees are very friendly. The view on everything is beautiful, there is a very nice long pool and a nice beach at the resort. But the sea is not really deep over there so it depends on what you like.
The breakfast was ok but also very simple and there was not so much to choose from.
The shower was bad cause it was fixed at the wall in one position (not the right one) and it was difficult to get it at the right temperature (too hot or too cold arghh). The water came so hard that it hurts your face.
In all honesty, the hotel lies a little bit too far from where the action is (24 kilometers so about half an hour drive with the motorbike). It's advised to rent a motorbike or car although there is shuttlebus present.
I had an offer so the price compared to the quality was good.
Travel tip : rent transportation and leave your laundry at 'express laundry' about a mile (1,5 km) from the hotel in the direction mae nam on your right hand. They washed and ironed it for 40 baht/kilo. It smelled really really nice and was very clean.

Just about everything. The location, the hotel and its wonderful staff, the room, the beach, the amazing sunsets and More, More and More.
The waste of resources with 4 plastic bottles of water per room per day.
Absolutely nothing else.
The hotel lives up to the pictures - and more. I think one of the photos is our room with a pool. It was wonderful. The staff are lovely and try to do everything to help. The hotel is small and low-rise. It is all bungalows with no higher buildings. You hardly know it is there, even from the sea. Beaytifully designed.
You just can't do justice to this location. The beach is beautiful and unspoilt. Unlike a review I read, it is not covered in dead coral. Try snorkelling - there are loads of fish and LIVE coral. There are masses of small, sand-crabs, which are very amazing to watch. The 2 or 3 fishermen go hand-fishing each day in the bay and it is lovely to watch the boats and ferries out at sea near the main port of Nathon.
It is isolated, which is a big plus on this island. So, hire a car for less than £100 per week. Just go there!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hin Lad waterfall - do the jungle trek. It's worth it. Ignore Waterfalls 1 and 2 (signposted all over the island), unless you like organised attractions and shows.

Great pools, restaurant, staff, views, quiet location
Room was smaller than expected, no shops nearby
This was exactly what we wanted. We arrived at 11am after a 15 hour bus journey (which we do not recommend), backpack in hand and looking rather tired. After welcome drinks and cold towels (a god send) we were shown to our room which was clean and comfortable but a bit small. Then for 4 days we relaxed…the resort was quiet, there was plenty of room around the pool and high quality sun beds. The staff were great and very accommodating. A word of warning – there are no shops nearby so you will need to get supplies. They offer a shuttle bus to Chaweng Beach every day at 4pm (one way) which is a good opportunity to stock up. We would love to have stayed there for longer and would definitely go back.

Small and friendly. Rooms are great. Pool. Free internet.
Location quite far from anything. Restaurant a little expensive.
We stayed 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. The hotel looks great and the rooms are really nice, especially if you can afford more than the superior. We stayed in a deluxe garden room which was really spacious and well equipped. The hotel is really nice for a quiet romantic break. It is however really far from the main towns on Samui which was a little frustrating at times. The hotel does offer a free shuttle bus every evening which is good but you have to make your own way home (It is not a problem but fairly expensive for Thailand and takes a while). Overall we loved the hotel but not the location. We would stay again for a few days of relaxing.

quite a big swimming pool (at least 30 m in length) with a direct view to the ocean where swmming at night in the illuminated pool was very romantic;
very friendly staff;
late checkout at no extra-fee;
free WLAN;
very romantic setting: quiet, nice garden, very tastefully furnished bungalows with WLAN, big TV, safety deposit box, AC, refridgerator, much space in the wardrobe;
kajak rental at no extra fee;
the beach is not very nice, too many stones and dead corals;
the next village is some kilometers away;
there could be more variations in the breakfast;
the dinner is too expensive without much variations and tastes a little bit like thai food for foreigners;
We were at the passage resort for a nice romantic stay of 5 nights. The beautiy of the resort is stunning. It even looks more nice than on those various promotional photos.
We could feel, that our bungalow (deluxe garden) was furnished with love and had everything you need for a stay, incl. WLAN, TV, refridgerator, AC, safety deposit box. The Passage Resort only consists of those bungalows, there is no big hotel block which gives the whole resort - as well as its nice garden - a very romantic atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and could be asked at any time for assistence (they even turned on the light of the pool when we went swimming in this still very warm water at 21:00).
During our stay, we've done a nice walk at low tide through very low and warm water (> 35 degrees celsius) and you could find some nice sand banks where you can walk on. At high tide we went kajaking to the next village. Another day we've rented a car (right opposite the resort) and drove to some waterfalls and the grandmother/grandfather rock. Another day we made a trip to some islands of the marine park and the next day a trip to Koh Tao.
All in all: this resort is the ideal romantic place to stay. But: you might need a rental car or some taxi rides to access the more inhabited parts of this island.
Restaurant Tip : Hotel / Restaurant: The Coral Cave (very good food at usual prices)

Great location, peaceful surrounding, and private
Shower room need improvement
Hotel is brand new so the hotel facilities are still well maintained. The design of lobby and resturant are great. Staffs are very helpful and polite. However, they should have put a curtain in the shower since water is splashed every where everytime someone is taking a shower. But overall I am satisifed with the hotel. Location, Room Confort and price.

This hotel deserves the 5 stars, the rooms are beautiful and very well maintained, the view is magic, swimming pools (3) are superb, the restaurant is delicious, staff are polite and very concerned about our well-being.
This hotel is a bit far from the town and very possibly even too quiet. A board out of the walls of the hotel if you want a taxi instead 200th of 400 with a taxi from the hotel.
This hotel is a peaceful haven in which to relax with your loved one. People are very friendly. Places are impeccable, everything is new hotel opened in January 2009. Free wireless Internet in all rooms or disponnible computer in the lobby. May thai a drink that I board without hesitation. If you need to relax between adults is the place to choose.
