The resort changed their name to Penninsula again.
But, their survice and hotel condition/cleanliness are not match with pennimsula standard. The resort is great place only if you are looking foe quiet vacation.

We had read lots of mixed reviews about this hotel. We had a fabulous holiday and could not find any faults at all. The staff could not do enough for you, the food was good, and the views are magnificent. We would definitely return.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a jeep and go into the mountains. Views are amazing, roads are bumpy.

Highly recommended private resort.
- Travel tip : Use the shuttle service or rent a car to get out and try other restuarants -- you'll want to spend all your time in the hotel but you'll miss all the good food!

Taxi from airport to hotel is expensive, 400B for only 10 mins drive. book local agent for pick up service if you can.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Join half day local tour (morning / afternoon)only 400-500B, sight seeing on the island.
Outside the island would be about 1600-2000B, depends the location, remember to bargin the price (about 300B deduction)

Overall we enjoyed the hotel enormously, however guests should be aware that its star rating does not match the level of service you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

There was no shower head in our room. Friends who had booked the same style of room had one in theirs. Worth checking when you arrive.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go down onto the beach below the hotel for a great massage for 200BHT.

The resort is under new managment and I hope it will improve.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Big Buddha Temple is beautiful and the BBC Cafe is a very good value restaurant but still costs about $10 in taxis each way.
