Nestled on a hill with stunning views of Lamai Bay, one of the best beaches on Samui, this resort is truly mesmerizing. All the luxury rooms of this family run and owned resort are surrounded by exotic palms and have superb sea and garden views. Take a break from your usual busy schedule and dive into the swimming pool located on the very top of a hill with breath-taking panoramic views. Guests can relax in the natural atmosphere of the steam room. When you get thirsty, have a refreshing cocktail at the hillside bar – the perfect spot to laze around and chat and after you’ve worked up an appetite. Magnificent view, styled with mostly natural products, spacious rooms, quiet location, friendly staff
Located up on the hill, so quiet a walk to the nearest beach, no airconditioning in the internet zone (which is relatively expensive on Samui) so lots of bugs
It is not just an ordinary hotel on the island. All used materials are natutal which caused a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are in fact more like a individual cottage, with simple bathroom (no water pressure!) and good airconditioning. The pool has a magnificent view over te sea and so does the restaurant. The staff can arrange motorbikes being delivered at the hotel without any additional costs and passport hand in (unlike Chaweng!). Walking is no option despite all other opinions; if you want to get out, you definitely need a motorbike. So nice hotel in fairly quiet surroundings for physically healthy customers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The main street in Lamai is just like Chaweng, lots of tourists, lots of "bars" so neglect this amusement and find good restaurants at the seaside (try f.i. fishermanstreet in BoPhut)

I don't think there was any disadvantage of this hotel. It's perfect to me. Maybe to some people who likes seaview in there room, this might be a disadvantage that their hotel rooms don't have sea view from the room.
We stayed in this hotel for about 8 days. There were lots of good memories with this hotel.
The hotel service was fantastic! They considered everything for us. Every hotel staff we met were very friendly to us.They were very polite and thoughtfull.
The hotel decoration was unique. Very Thai! Feels that the designer of this hotel made a lot effort on everything even little things. As the hotel itself located on one of the hills near La Mai beach, it had a fantastic view of the whole beach.Swimming pool and dinning room had realy amazing view. It was not far from the beach at all. It only took us 5 minutes to walk from hotel to the beach. It was close to resturants and bars as well.It only took us 2-3 minutes to walk down the hill to reach main street where restaurant and bars were. To be located on the hill has another advantage was it was very quite at night

The views of Hat Lamai and mountains were great from the pool and restaurant areas. Gardens were special, staff was great
The room itself had only garden views. Bit of a walk to the beach.
The Varinda Garden Resort hotel was extra special. It had very nice rooms- each a Thail style bungalow surrounded by fantastic gardens and art work. The hotel pool was small but beautiful with it's infinity edge looking over Lamai Beach. The restaurant food was good, but better food was available in many reataurants nearby. The staff was very gracious. It is a hill walk down ot the beach- a motor bike is probably the best way to access the rest of the sites. It was very nice for the price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The day trip to Angthong National marine park was a highlight. For better night life take the baht bus to Chaewang Beach.
