Perfect for an overnight
The warm welcome and quick check-in process led by the manager who speaks excellent English. The attractive building style. Cheap and tasty breakfast - a Thai delicacy, choice of eggs and good coffee
My family (2 adults and 2 kids 7 and 5) stayed in the family room which was basic but clean and functional. Equipped with Aircon and fridge but no tv. My husband and I found the double bed incredibly uncomfortable (hard to the point of pain) so we didn't get a good night's sleep, but we enjoyed everything else about the hotel. We also felt it was very good value.

Overrated and underwhelming
Arrived at 6.30pm, but no staff around, apart from a surly old guy who didn't speak to me at all. Looked for someone to see if I could check in. The old guy just handed me a copy of my reservation confirmation. Another guy then showed up and led me to my room. The lights in the room were not working, so he showed me to another one. Just a basic wooden hut, with no TV, no fridge, only 2 electric outlets, a bed with mosquito net and some random wooden furnishings. The towels provided were old and grey, as were the sheets on the hard bed. The only other things in the room were two bottles of the cheapest warm drinking water and some tissues, as well as a few mosquitos. The bathroom was old and stale. The tap leaked and the tiles were stained. Breakfast the next morning looked inedible (some sort of beef?), so I declined. They made me some scrambled eggs instead, along with instant coffee. I was never asked to formally check in. I have no idea why this place is rated 4-star. I would say 1-star is being generous. I have visited Sukhothai many times, and stayed at a number of different places. they're similarly priced, but offer much better value, comfort and quality.

little oasis
beautifull garden with birds in it. perfect spot to rent a bicycle and enjoy all of the old city.
The family who runs it are very friendly and helpfull. The location is Just out side the old city, but I advice you to rent a bike for going to the shop and restaurants. You can do that at the guest house. The cottage was basic yet beautifull. It was a very pleasant and relaxed stay.

Despicable service despite the beautiful set up
It is beautiful and well located with a lovely breakfast
But, despite all this beauty. No good service. You cannot leave your bag it is almost like if they kick you out. They cut off water early morning. Considering the price you are expecting a 24/7 reception which is not the case. You almost have the neighbour to book your tuk tuk for the morning if you go home after 7pm. No service, no bar, no light... It is empty and no one is available for you. If it was a hostel we would understand but considering the price we do not understand how they can kick you out this way and be so absent for their guest. You just feel like a member to fill up their wallet instead of taking good care of you like so many Thai people do it ! So sad ... We do love Thailand and their people but they do not match the profile sadly... It is lovely though but just lovely decoration, no soul or human spirit in there...

Garden, location, cleanness
Disappointed by the check-in time which close at 7pm (surprising for an hotel located in a touristic place that you can usually reach by late buses). Breakfast is not "incredible" as mentioned but "normal" and serves in an unpleasant dining area. Regarding the overall looking, garden is great with plenty of plants, pool is large enough and rooms are comfortable. Personally, I won't recommend the Orchid Hibiscus guest house due to the tough rules which are not suitable for travelers who are looking for freedom and good vibes...

Quaint guest house close to historical park
1. Close to historical park (easy to bicycle) 2. friendly & helpful staff 3. Nice gardens, clean pool.
Enjoyed the overnight stay. Room is small but relatively clean with antique look. I'd rate it a 3-star. Staff is friendly & helpful.
