We stayed here for one night before flying out next day. Ball was great, met us at the guest house and made us feel very welcome. Big room, comfy big bed, good air con and wifi. Doesn't quote as providing breakfast but he told us to help ourselves to coffee tea toast and bottled water, all complementary. He then drove us to the airport for 100b less than a normal taxi. All in all, a great place to stay for a small price. Close to the night food market as well!

Welcoming and comfortable, shame we had to leave!

Great staff (very friendly and helpful), clean and comfortable room, felt at home

We only stayed one night unfortunately but the owner made as feel at home and we were provided with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He even drove us to a pad thai stall for dinner at midnight because we had late check-in after our flight. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. We did not want to leave, but we had a ferry booked with free pick up from hotel which they also organised well before our stay. The only downside was the location which the taxi driver could not find for some time. We were not in Surat Thani long enough to know if it was a decent location in other respects. Would still recommend for stopovers because of the good price for good service. The price of the room also included free wifi, water, tea and toast :)

We called the owner when we arrived at the bus station in Surat Thani. She sent her uncle within 30 mins to pick us up and take us to the guest house for free. Uncle was very friendly, spoke good English. Provided toast, tea and coffee in the morning. Asked if we wanted to be taken to the airport in the morning for 300 Baht, telling us the airport is 1 hour away. Unfortunately he didn't realise I could speak That and knew the airport was no more than 30 minutes drive.

We had a warm welcome, and Ball's uncle was immediately at our service to drive us to the city center and bring us back a few hours later. A special thank to his wife for the very tasty pineapple! The room was very clean, the bathroom spared with another room, but also very clean.

Fantastic! Very clean n cozy rooms. There r only 2 rooms on the 2nd level actually. Very homy feeling. Staff is extremely friendly! Offer their help in everything. They provide all toiletries n basics for breakfast. For a very reasonable price they can pick u up or drop u off wherever u need. I felt like at home. Even left part of my stuf there. So definitely will be back. :-)

Amazing value for money.

Clean, large, comfy, free breakfast, tv, free cold bottled water, amazing host, free wifi, close to night market

We arrived by transfer via ferry from Koh Tao. We took a taxi to Serene Guest house (100 Bath pr car not pr person!) but discovered that we could have mailed / called Ball to arrange a pick up. She was an amazing host, all though we only stayed one night. Guest house is small with only 2 rooms. Bathroom is shared, but it's no issue at all. Everything is clean and tidy. Walking distance to good local restaurants and room is fitted with an easy-to-read-map with restaurants, kiosk, market and 7-11. Location is a bit outside town, but taxi is only 100 bath from center of town. Perfect for 1 night stays before an early flight. Transfer to airport in private car can be arranged for 300 Bath (400 with AC). All in all real value for money! - Stay with Ball at Serene, you won't regret it

So Good we booked another night

A good place to restore one's equilibrium after travelling on a budget and having to stay at lesser places for a similar price and more

We altered our itinery so that we could take this opportunity to rest up in this peaceful, home like atmosphere for one more day.

Incredible Value

Large Area as though you have your own furnished apartment

This accommodation has it all. We have been travelling for months on a fairly strict budget and have had to sacrifice one thing or another when staying in accommodation at this room rate. Then finally at the end of our 3 month holiday we had it all for a low rate. Of course you are in a city and not on the islands but if you want to recuperate with a bit of normality and not have to sacrife cleanliness or comfort this is the place to go. The owner and her Uncle and Aunt made us feel very welcome assisting in every way that they could and then leaving us to enjoy the two story furnished apartment (2 upstairs bedrooms with TV's and desks, a shower/toilet to share upstairs and another shower/toilet downstairs). There is aircon in the bedrooms, fan downstairs - which keeps quite cool anyway, a TV & couch, small dining table, and kitchen area with large fridge, hot water, toasted sandwich maker and free bottled water, tea coffee etc. Also provided are soaps, shampoo etc. There is a printer, computer, free wifi and a washing machine. The owner's uncle picked us up in his scooter taxi for the last distance as we were a little lost and tired, he also brought us a plate of the best mangosteens we have ever eaten on our second night. The owner who speaks very good english brought us all the information on alternatives for our onward travel to KL, when we asked for some assistance. She will give great and accurate assistance in anything you need I am sure. For the budget traveller you cannot go wrong. If you are saving your pennies as we had to at this stage of our holiday, the apartment is approx 15-20 walk to the Bangkok Bus station and a 20 baht ride on the local orange bus (For nearest bus bay just walk past Tesco Lotus and it is opposite the Diamond Plaza Hotel on Sri Waichai road) to travel to either the train station in Phun Phin or the bus terminals for buses to the south or the Gulf Islands. We will definitley be back for a longer stay later in the year.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Suratani is a very nice city and you can hire a scooter to explore the local area using Suratani as a base.
