I would recommend Ban Phuu for one night stay in order to eat at the restaurant and go straight to bed. Arrive at sunset, eat at their wonderful restaurant Suan Phuu and watch herons and birds stalk around the mangrove forest. Cover yourself in mosquito spray and go to bed. The resort is very Thai, meaning few luxuries. Make sure you book the newer garden view deluxe rooms as all others are old and musty.
Just book it!

The value for the price is tremendous so if you consider a few nights in Trat before heading further to Koh Chang do not think twice, just book it!

The staff is lovely but English is not great and there was construction on going in lots of areas.
- Hotel Feature Tip : The site itself is great but it's far from Trat. About 12 KM.
