Looking for a beach vacation, but without the crowds, then SevenSea Hotel in Koh Kradan could be your answer.

Located off the coast of Trang, this hotel is located on one of Thailand's few untouched islands. The island can be accessed from Phuket, Krabi and Trang airports and hotels and the journey takes about 45 minutes on a longtail boat. Scuba Diving, island tour and island hopping can be arranged for at the hotel. The Sevenseas Restaurant offers casual dining throughout the day, and guests can enjoy it either by the pool or on the beach. The open-air Beach Bar is the perfect place for a wake-up coffee, a juice during the day, or a cocktail at night.

The perfect end to this setting would be the Spa that is set among the gardens and offer traditional Thai and aromatheraphy massages.

Stylish design, Fantastic beach, Super-sized bed.

Costly transportation, poor arrangement for excursion.

We were very impressed with the unique and cool design of the hotel, very different from other resorts around. The bed was so comfortable. The outdoor bathroom was great except for the ugly green tarp that covered the bamboo fence. The fact that the closet was outside near where we showered made everything feel damp. The low quality tissue and toilet paper were annoying. However, the stunning beach and wonderful coral reef had made us forget about all these little annoyance. We will definitely return to this resort again.

Hotel Feature Tip : Great spa, especially aloe vera massage after a painful sunburn.

Stunnuing location, standard of accomodation, facilities, rooms, bathroom.

Expensive restaurant, view from cheaper rooms is poor.

We stayed at the Sevenseas resort in march 2009. The location of the resort is absolutely stunning....even for Thailand. The beach is white and unspoiled and the sea is turquoise. In the sea the coral and sea life that can be seen snorkelling is amazing, and would be classed as a good dive. The resort itself is located on the beach. The restaurant is spectacular overlooking the beach and sea, the food and drinks were very expensive for Thailand. The pool area with double bedded mattresses to lie on is wonderful. We stayed in one of the garden rooms which was beautiful inside and the outdoor bathroom was huge with spotlights and plants growing, it was unbelievable. The only negative aspect of the room was that the view was of the room in front of ours, which was a shame considering the beauty of the location. The resort has 1 Kayak for guest use and it it is possible to Kayak around Koh Kradan in a couple of hours. Some people may find this resort isolated as there are no roads on the island, just one footpath though the forest that takes you across the island to the west coast. There are approximately 3 other restaurants where they serve basic food and drinks. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to other travellers.

Hotel Feature Tip : The more expensive rooms at the front of the resort are stunning. I would recommend you pay for the most expensive room if you are able to afford.

The peace of the hotel was great. Dim lights perfect for a nice atmosphere, with the bar playing some tasteful music on good speakers. The decor of the hotel was good, nice chairs, pool and bar. Rooms were fairly spacious if you include the open bath. The staff were friendly and concerned about their guests. The resort is spanking clean and new. The island is a perfect place for a snorkel and swim and excellent for scenery and sight-seeing. Nice fine white sand on "Sunset Beach" which is a 10 min scenic walk on the right hand side of the resort once leave the loby area.

The location of ko kradan is not very accessible. It takes a long travel from any other part of Thailand other than Trang airport itself. The price of the hotel is steep. Transfers are a total rip off. The side trips to sight see and island hop are outrageously priced. The hotel is not genuine 4 star quality. It is generally "unfinished" to appear to adapt to the "minimalist" concept. The toilet is literally in the open, with no real walls surrounding the bathing area or 50% of the bathroom. Instead, green scaffolding is errected to protect your privacy. This spoils the look of the toilet and makes you feel like you are bathing at a construction site. Not all the staff could speak decent English and some had difficulty taking orders for breakfast.

The resort was good. 7/10. Ko Kradan was the charming one that makes sevenseas resort a success. The serenity and quiet of the island plus its pristine waters and beaches are absolutely breathtaking. Just ask the staff on the places to go when you are on the island. You may alliance with the local fishermen at kuan tung ku peir to save money on transfers. You may park your car there if you have one. Or else arrange your own transfers through a private agent.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Read up before you go to Ko Kradan. The other nearby islands include Ko Muk, Ko Rok etc. Don't forget to visit emrald cave.
