A Not So Amazing One Night Stay

i stayed at the nevada inn for just one evening in february 2013. when i checked in, i was informed that the elevator was out of service that i would have to take the stairs to my room on the seventh floor (the hotel didn't seem very busy so i don't know why i was put in a room on the seventh floor). i arrived in the evening, so it was difficult to find authentic thai food nearby for dinner. i ate at the mall which is attached to the hotel. when i tried to check e-mail, i was told that the internet was down for the moment, and it would be up eventually; they did not know when however. i was pointed toward the local internet cafe which i found didn't have a way to print items which was what i needed to do in addition to checking my e-mail. the internet eventually worked for a while. the elevator was fixed the next day as i was checking out. it is probably a fine place to stay; the room are clean; the decor is simple but pleasant; however, the one evening that i stayed there was stressful and not so fun. oh, but the matress was extremely comfortable!! that part was amazing!

Large comfortable room but quite far from centre
The room was big and comfortable as was the bed. And I had a balcony

the reception staff don't seem used to dealing with non-thai visitors and between them struggled to speak and understand english. the hotel is at the back of a cinema/entertainment complex and not far from a huge tesco lotus. it's also only 2km from the bus station which is useful for early morning departures. but then it's also probably 2km into the centre of town so not the most convenient location for sightseeing.

I read many reviews before choosing this hotel and it did not disappoint. I have traveled around Asia the past 6 months and currently live in Laos, so keep that perspective in mind. I saw reviews that said the furniture was outdated. Ok, I see that. Some of the wood items didn't have the best finish on it anymore. But that was it in the "negatives" column for me. The bed was very comfortable which was a huge plus and the wood flooring was beautiful. There was a fridge in my room and a nice large flat screen television. The bathroom was also very nice as it had an actually shower "stall" with a shower curtain. I am used to just showering off on the open floor. There was free wifi which worked well. The hotel staff were also very willing to help and the check in through my Agoda reservation was seamless. (I did have the confirmations they sent me printed which helped).
Shopping Tip:
The Tesco/Lotus and City Mall are both within easy walking distance.

was stuck and had to stay again, the noise from the movies was shocking, the noise from the air conditioning was the same.. never again and was happy to get out of there !!!!.. the girl at the desk had no idea of what english was and the breakfeast was bad.

The Hotel is clean with friendly staff, and near the airport and a big Tesco.
However, the noise from the adjoining multiplex cinema starts around 2pm and goes on until after midnight. Luckily for us this noise was drowned out by the blaring Karaoke from the nightclub.
We booked 2 nights and lost sleep.
Travel tip:
Near Tesco Lotus, they sell 4 pairs of earplugs for 56 baht

Convenient and comfortable
main street location but well back from road noise, close to services

Some remodelling has been done in recent years, oarticularly of foyer/reception areas. Still quirky and with lots of empty space and 'make do' repairs typical of most SE Asian hotels. Comfortable bed (not a given in this part of the world) and adequate in-room mini-fridge. Four English language channels for news and features, with good reception.
Restaurant Tip:
Having Black Canyon coffee and restaurant at the other end of the complex is convenient for dinner, as public transport is all but non-existent after dark. The hotel also has its own cafe now but I haven't tried it as it was noisy with karaoke at night. It was open early so I will keep that in mind for future breakfast needs.

They had a discount offer when reserving. The furniture may be old as the other comments. But the room was spacious and clean.
It sufficed since I was basically only there to sleep in the night.
One problem was the shower water spilled out through the tunnel of the barrier between the shower and the toilet area. This flood half of the bathroom. It must be an engineering design flaw where the floor is lower around the toilet than the shower drain. I temporarily fixed this problem by stucking a plastic bag full of toilet paper into the tunnel in the small "wall (10 cm high)" that separeted the toilet area and the shower area. This minimized the leak and virtually solved the problem. I don't know if this is unique to my room.
The front desk staff did not speak English.
This hotel was behind the movie theater. There is a larger hotel on the same property and all my friends thought that I was staying at the larger hotel. May cause possible confusion in case of meeting up.
