Location and hotel services are good.

Price increased by 50 % after becoming the chain of Central Group whereas most of hotel facilities remained unchanged.

Location is good. Breakfast provides good variety of food. Employees are nice and service oriented. Rooms are quite old but still in the acceptable condition. Price was increased by 50 % after becoming the chain of Central Group but most of the hotel facilities and room quality condition remain unchanged so why the price is increased ?

Shopping Tip : Location is great, just next door to Central Plaza.

We really like the great location next to the Italian restaurant and Charoensri Shopping Mall. The Superior rooms are nice and the staff always friendly, helpful and efficient

Full satellite package would be nice - Fox News seemed to be the only thing in English

The hotel, which used to be called the Charoensri Grand and is now part of the Centara chain, is great value and in our view the best place to stay in Udon, due to its central location, good service and efficient staff. It is unpretentious, and consistent in its standards, breakfast has an adequate range of Asian and European choices - good coffee would be a great addition. Useful to note that Standard Rooms don't come with a window.

Nice location in the heart of the city, next to Central Mall. Free airport pickup.

The room that I stayed in had no windows and made it seem a little claustrophobic.

Stayed in this hotel for just one night to attend a wedding. Overall a nice hotel with relatively good service. The room that I had booked had no windows (although I saw some with windows on the same floor). Not recommended for those who like natural light and a feeling of ample space. Conveniently located just next to Central Mall for all your shopping needs with free airport pickup on arrival. Transport back to the airport, however, was not free. For party goers, Brother's Club is just opposite the hotel and open till late. At the same room rate at approx 1200 bht, I would stay here again on my next visit to Udon Thani.

Clean, friendly, great breakfast

Expensive internet

The location is good, next door to Shopping Mall with all of the usual mall type shops and a Robinsons Dept. Store. The buffet breakfast was very good, full choice of both Western and Thai dishes and the live omlette station. Friendly and efficient staff, helpful and courteous. The only negative is the high cost of Internet connection in the rooms.

Good location and good Breakfast

the smoking smell in my room

It the best place for u to stay in UDorn if you want to be near the train station, shopping complex, cinema, and good place for dining. If you are not smoking just don't forget to check the room. Coz my room is full of smoking smell even i request the non smoking room.

We stopped here on our way to Vientiane, Laos. The Centara is by far the best hotel in town. It is close to the bus station, the Day & Night market, restaurants, massage places and is attached to a shopping mall. The hotel restaurants are very good. I recommend the Dim Sum at the Chinese restaurant.

Travel tip : The bus from Udon Thani to Ventiane, Laos costs 80 baht (~$2.50) and leaves every couple of hours. You must already have your Laos visa before you buy your bus ticket. The ride takes 2 & 1/2 hours.

Newish hotel, close to shops and restaurants, good selection in the mini bar, staff spoke English and were helpful and friendly.

Room was small, but not too bad. There was a rock concert across the road which kept us up but I'm sure it doesn't happen too often.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again next time we're in Udon Thani. Our bags were carried up to our room for us and we the hotel had the vibe of a 5 star. The bed was nice and soft which was a nice change after the hard beds in most other hotels we'd stayed at.

Restaurant Tip : The steak house downstairs was expensive and not very good quality. You're better off trying one of the restaurants further down the main road.

The hotel is ideally located for the town centre. The main shopping complex is next door to the hotel. Breakfast is good with a good choice of both European and Thai food. The lunch buffet is also good value for money. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful and courteous. Recommended for families, nice pool area and many places to eat around the hotel.

Great staff, Great massage and spa and lobby, toilets, and rooms nice and clean.

Very expensive internet and laundry and very little English television. Even English subtitles would have been good.

The feature I look for in a hotel is cleanliness and Centara hotel was nice and clean. The staff I found very courteous and friendly. The taxi service to the airport was great and good value. As an only English speaking person having staff being able to speak this a little more would have made things much easier. Laundry and internet were very expensive and made me reluctant to want to use these services. If these were reduced in price I believe customers would utilize them more. I found the hotel to be a very nice place to stay but as room prices have gone up in the new year I will next time go to other accommodation in Udon Thani that is very clean but considerably cheaper.

Breakfast buffé was magnificent, a perfect mix of Asian and Western foods. Laundry service was more than efficient, fast and excellent. Baggage-handling very effective. Cleaning were fast and efficient.

Rooms a a bit dated. Pool-area had no serving by the pool, you had to go get drinks yourself inside the hotel. Poor internet-service, expensive(250 Baht/half an hour).

The hotel is big and have really good services mostly. Some few annoyances though, when I visited they had a electrical Santa in the reception-area outside the restaurant, that played the same Christmas-tune over and over again as soon as someone passed the Santa. Employees at the hotel were overall very nice and concerned of my satisfaction of their hotel, good service from whoever I got involved with.

Large rooms; breakfast had a good variety for all travelers; Centrally located;

There is an outdoor amphitheater right accross the street from the hotel. If you have a room facing the front door, don't count on getting to sleep until late.

The hotel was a good choice as it was clearly the leader in the Udon Thani area. You get exceptional value for your money. A short walk to the main Mall area and many restaurants. Tuk tuks are hovering close by if you want to go somewhere else. I enjoyed my stay, in a large room, good breakfast, good price and centrally located. I would stay at this hotel again for sure.

Nightlife Tip : Several bars just across the street and past the outside music stage. Very easy to walk around or to rent a motor bike to get around.

Stop at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year, hotel starting to look very tired, excessive noise from across the road. You have to pay for the transfer to the airport (it used to be free) Other hotels in Udon are of better quality and are maintained to a better standard. Arrived at the hotel and did not get shown up to the room when entering! This is a first at this hotel for me.

Restaurant Tip : Try the nightmarket for food about 5 - 10 min walk from the hotel, great food and cheap beer!

Great Location

Overpriced Mediocre experience...

This Hotel would benefit from some competition. It rests on its laurels.Don't be fooled by the name change.... breakfast food is tasteless and uninspiring. The charge of 375b per hour for internet access is a joke! Rooms need refurblishment although pleasant enough. Check out alternatives before taking the easy option of staying here.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Have a facial (100 m right of hotel) at beauty shop at crossroads....for 200b

Very cleaness surrounding. All staffs are very welcome to clients, alway smile, greeting, advising and helpful.

Restroom should renovate as some wall look dirty by old of the building before take over.

The Centara Hotel & Convention Centre, Udon Thani is settled in the heart of the city. It is 15 minutes drive from the train station. The hotel is a few steps from a shopping and entertainment centre, consisting of the Chaoensri Complex Shopping Mall, Robinson Department Store and a Major Bowl and Cinema Complex. Rooms at the Centara Hotel & Convention Centre, Udon Thani are spacious and well furnished with modern amenities. Formerly known as the Charoensri Grand Royal Hotel. The room rate is very competitive for the same stars hotel in this area. In conclusion, this is beyond your expectation.

Shopping Tip : very convenience as Central Plaza Shopping mall including restaurants, moovie Cineplex and Bowling are available for a few steps walk from Hotel Lobby
