We had a fantastic stay at the Ba Duc Ancient House. The hotel is actually a wonderful homestay. The guest area is in a building behind the family home which is a beautifully maintained traditonal house. The main portion of the house has the tradtional ancestor worship cabinets and the grounds are free for guests to wander around. The owner is very willing to give you information about the house. The house is set in fruit orchards and much of the fresh fruit is served at the meals.
During our stay we were made to feel very welcome by the family and staff. The owner offered us fishing rods and baits (free of charge) to fish for cat fish in his pond. The evening meal and breakfast were served in the courtyard and the food was lovely.
The room was basic but very clean and furnished with lovely wooden items. Air con and hot water worked well. Very comfortable.
The hotel is set right on the riverside and is very quiet and peaceful, perfect get away for relaxation, or a change to see vietnam away from the tourist trail. The hotel itself is quite hard to find, i would suggest hiring a boat or private transport from Saigon or My Tho. The owner was able to sort out motorbikes and bus to get us back to My Tho afterwards, but we had some trouble finding it using public transport.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the Ancient House and would very much recommend this hotel.

Nous vivons à Saigon et passer un week-end dans le delta du Mekong est un moment de calme et de charme. Il y a très peu d'hôtels dans le delta et en général ils sont laids et très bas de gamme. Ba Duc est une jolie maison dans un magnifique jardin, au calme, au bord du Mékong, tenue par une famille adorable. C'est en demi-pension le soir. Accueil très sympathique, chambre simple mais propre (mais il manque des moustiquaires), sdbains propre, prêt de vélos, possibilité d'excursions en bateau. Excellent rapport qualité-prix.
