We stayed in the family suite, in two adjoining rooms.
Our huge room had a comfortable couch and two chairs, in addition to the king bed, sat TV, etc.
My daughter's room was a bit smaller but had a balcony. Both rooms were clean and comfortable with everything a Western traveler could require.
The Internet wireless was a bit weak, but free and it worked.
There were lots of choices at the breakfast buffet, including an omelette chef, and the food was pretty good.
The view was truly amazing of the river and a pretty park with French hedges, palms, Norfolk pines, bonsais, and even a statue of Ho Chi Minh. There was a windswept cafe/restaurant and terrace, if you don't have the view from your room.
We had lovely robes and turn-down service with heart-shaped chocolates along with the usual fruit basket.
Some would criticize the ambiance, with its fifties Soviet style-- dark wood furniture, heavy lace curtains, stained green glass, and metal railings. However, I personally enjoy the fact that all the world's hotels do not yet look alike. I found it interesting to be in Vietnam's idea of a luxury business hotel
- Restaurant Tip : We enjoyed eating at a modern place just around the corner, with an open garden and 21st century chic coffee-house style. Sorry, I can't remember the name, but it is very distinctive. If you find it, get the honey-bee or another one of the spectacular desserts.
